No. Remember good hitters hit .300 not .400+ in real life. Pitching was getting smashed by players that just middle swing without moving their pci. That was bs. Make it real.

If you want a sim go play out of the park. The vast majority of us want user input to matter almost exclusively and if that means high scoring games so be it.

Like I said in the other thread, 45% of players hitting under .200 isn't realistic either. What's SDS going to do to fix that?

Hitting .400 isn't realistic but if they made pitching better the avgs would come down

If ,and that's a big if cause I liked it the way it was, hitting was too easy, the fix is pitching,which many agreed wasn't good.
now hitting is terrible,but pitching still is bad. -
I'm still getting rewarded for my good swings. Every player in my lineup still has over an 1.000 OPS. It's weird that doesn't seem to be the case for most people, but I'm hitting just fine.

Since the patch even most of my perfect swings are just 110mph line drives right at infielders.

Lmao if the absolute best players in this game could only hit .300 then most players would be hitting like .150. I’m sure nobody wants that.
Edit: I also wanna point out that Ted Williams hit .406 in 1941 and Tony Gwynn almost did in 1994 so it’s not like we haven’t seen high batting averages in real life.

To everyone saying hitting was op...we were less than week into a new game, 95% of us were playing RS on all star difficulty against pitchers with bad stats who couldnt locate pitches....just try to fix fielding bugs and pitching smh im sure the game was playing fine on hall of fame/legend difficulty...i havent been that excited to play and grind since 16...now i literally dont know what do, i still cant locate pitches and im winning/loosing low scoring games because of a hr or late hits...it [censored] me off so much because every year is the same story...maybe its just me tho

They just patched it before barely anyone even made it to hof diffulty which is stupid and goes against their analytical feed back reasoning

I'm 8-1 since the patch. My whole teams OPS is 1.223. But I'm also able to recognize what's really happening and it's a mix of a bunch of things including terrible pitching, and inconsistently rewarded swings.

But the terrible pitching existed since the beginning. It wasn't a patch thing, I was hanging pitches day one.

This is a sim baseball game. That’s what makes it great. In baseball you hit balls hard right at guys sometimes. I personally think the game is much better now. Guys were hitting home runs on balls that had no business being a homerun. Should be rewarded for hitting your spots as a pitcher.

You're right about the pitching. I'm just saying it remains a large problem.
And I still think hitting is a mess man. I play conquest on legend/HOF. Never have a problem. Consistently would make it to the higher end of CS in 19. placed 11th in ESL.
This isn't to brag, because I'm not great at this game, this is to make a point that we ALL agreed 19 was a mess but the top players were still able to overcome, however rage-inducing it might have been.
SDS sold us on 20 over INPUT mattering and we wouldn't see exactly what we are seeing right now. Exactly the same way it went down in 19. -

And so I can admit, it's even a bit dramatic to call it a "mess" on my part. It's better than 19 for sure, but I'm just scared I'm witnessing it head straight down that path again and after the way they sold this game, I'm a little disappointed rn.

It has sim aspects but as soon as you add user input into the equation then it becomes decidedly less so.
In a game where the best players can hit .400 with a bronze player while the worst players struggle to hit .250 with a diamond player then you can't really say that it is a true sim. But. it is the closest thing the consoles have.
