I'm not quitting the game. Let's be clear. I'm just not going to do anything that requires an investment of my time, with nothing to show for it.
The issues are game breaking right now and I'm at a loss.
Mark Cuban talks about how time is something money can't buy. Wasting my time is something that is very irritating. For these reasons, why usually stay away from modes that offer possibility of no reward for my time. If I wanted that, I'd play showdown or moments. I generally don't.
Battle Royal should count even if I lose. I can handle 39 foul balls out of 87 pitches against an Xbox player 30 games below .500 as long as my stats count. I can handle getting beaten 10-1 in a 3 Inning game provided that the previous 3 games I played have their stats count.
When lazy coding or untested environments randomly dictate what games count and what ones don't, no compensation makes up for my loss of time.
I don't want compensation. I don't wan sympathy for not being elite at competitive play. I just want accumulated time to work the way it's supposed to.
RNG for my input is fine. RNG for my time on earth isn't.

That’s what I thought too. Then again - I used to play every single day for hours and practically live on this forum and I didn’t even buy the game this year. I think they’ll lose a lot of the long time players, but gain new blood regardless. They new guys who don’t know the servers are frequently appalling every single year will assume the issues are a one off due to multi platform, cross play, global pandemic or something else and argue that it’s to be expected. They’ll get some free packs for the inconvenience and be satisfied with a free diamond pull. Having not been around when the game was competitive online and you really had to earn diamonds for your squad, they’ll presume all the RNG and sparkly cards will seem pretty normal. The player base will evolve with the game, even if it’s all trending downwards. I’ve seen numerous people defending SDS on this very forum, even after the absolute debacle that’s been the launch so far.
They lost me last year as a buyer they'd had since 2014 for completely unrelated to gameplay issues. Alas, a week in and a free copy comes my way. This is without a doubt the worst I've seen the servers. Got what I paid for I guess

With all the server issues, lost XP, lost stats, cards going missing, stubs going missing, the After Game roulette being taken out of Conquest without explanation, and Inning Programs expiring; nothing less than a restitution package consisting of 25K in stubs, 2 42 Packs, and a 50pk bundle would be worth it.
20 standard pack bundle and 11k stubs is the very most you’ll get IMHO, but what good is anything if you can’t get into DD to use it? In no time, the most desirable cards in the game will be superseded by newer, flashier versions and become largely irrelevant anyway. If I’d paid for the early access and extras, lost my inventory and stubs and wasted two solid weeks of my life, they could give me Trout and I’d still feel salty about it.
SDS is not even admitting there is a problem. Handing out something would be an admission. I do not feel they plan to hand out anything.

Exactly why i play it on game pass. Last years game showed me. That 21 would not be worth spending any money(buying game or stubs in game)

I'm 100% in this camp. I certainly understand all of the frustrations out here, but I've been reasonably lucky so far as well. Love the gameplay on 21 with the limited amount I've been in BR and RS compared to 20. Also maybe because I'm not as crappy as I thought I'd be...

But i think we could agree that over the years since the series started this game should be alot more polished on launch day.. not saying you cant have bugs but when barely anyone can play and when u do get on you have/had big issuses in all game modes year in year out.

Because the gameplay is pretty good minus a few issues. I'll defend the gameplay, but not the servers, and SDS is still miles ahead of any other company that creates sports games. So yes ill defend them, but they need to figure the server [censored] out.

Ill admit last years gameplay was horrendous compared to this year havent had nearly as many issues Still some issues for sure tho wouldnt say pretty good but if u can get in a game it runs decent enough. And here lies the fault. -when you have no competition you dont need to improve. i truely hope a company comes out and rivals The show so that they finally need to innovate and actually improve the show

The game is great, but these constant oversights related to code writing and updating of files related to a roster update breaking conquest maps? That is careless. They should have an on-site squad working triage after every update, especially for plain sight issues.
When bad code gets released, I was called back into the office for diagnosis and ETA. Letting stuff sit over a weekend is unacceptable in any industry.

COBOL is not the solution. Heh. Real time data exchanges are happening using python and SQL integrated into DB2 tables (probably). And that's only functions that need to either read data or populate/modify it.
The queries and functions are where the errors are. Simple debugging will solve most of these issues. There are automated tools or good human eyesight.

Internally at SDS, hopefully they use a tool like this and not just a word document or post it notes.

This, the gameplay is great this year I can’t knock SDS for that, these technical problems two weeks after launch are unacceptable though IMO. SDS just cant seem to get both gameplay and tech to work together, ‘20 had great content and everything worked, everything but the gameplay. ‘17 the gameplay was great, but the servers were not.

My lame attempt at tech humor. I work in the ERP space, and we’re moving our clients off on-premise legacy COBOL systems to the Cloud. COBOL, as far as business applications go, was pretty bulletproof. For gaming? Ummm... no.
