For all the people saying that telling a woman these days she looks nice could be considered misconduct If you dont know the difference between a compliment and misconduct you are definitely a creep.
the mlb isnt going to ban a HOF player bc he told a lady she looked nice. theyve investigated already. obviously they found something suspect enough to cut ties.
I agree he definitely had to have done something bad. I was just referring to all the people saying "nowadays you can tell a woman she looks nice and it could be considered sexual misconduct". People are creepy man
I mean, MLB cut ties from Atlanta for the All Star Game over lies regarding updates to election laws, so, no I don't think he had to have done something. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't, but right now in the current environment an accusation is enough for an organization or business to cut ties. We wouldn't have a game here if every player, coach, former player, etc. was investigated for misconduct because you'd probably be shocked at what would come out.

bro this investigation was done by a third party as well as this news came out of no where. I highly doubt they banned him from baseball over "lies". Its not as if the lady reported publicly and they banned him without due diligence. she reported privately and they investigated pretty quietly as well

Personally I agree with the move but that's a completely different topic that I'm not gonna get into here. I think the fact that even after an investigation was done so many people still strongly defend the man is another reason why so many women don't speak up in situations.

Imagine needing a safe space because a card was in your inventory. You don't have to use it though and it can be buried by getting better cards...
Seriously no one even knows what he allegedly did so who the hell are we to judge?
Wait are you trying to tell me your not going to judge someone without all the facts? Shame on you! Let me guess you grew up in a time when they didnt give out 9th place Ribbons?

I'm not defending him. He's likely a POS, he has a history ...including not disclosing his HIV to his wife. What I'm saying is the game is full of POS's... If you dug a little you'd have noone to put in the game.

idk if you know this but public judgement means absolutely nothing in this situation. the MLB felt they had enough of the facts in their investigation to ban him. thats all that matters

Does puling the card punish him? Do they get to take their royalty money back? I don't know. I just like using the card.

pulling the card has nothing to do with punishing him. thats about MLB cutting ties with the player which means SDS might have to

And this is the same MLB that found the Astros not guilty of sign stealing when they investigated it first time round.

pretty sure mlb conducted the astros investigation on their own whereas this they brought in a third party firm
-
I believe it is important that a victims of such crime be supported loudly & publicly.
baseball putting him on the banned list says we believe you to this victim, as does Rogers removing his banner from the Rogers Centre.
Sony should make a statement by removing him from the game, in the end its Sonys game and they'll do what ever they want with it but I do hope he is removed from this game. -

I think the point he was trying to make is that MLB has a history of looking the other way when it suits them. I'm actually pretty sure they know everything about everyone... They likely feel that something more going to come out and they're getting ahead of it. Has everything to do with their brand and nothing to do with right or wrong.

You don't have to honor him, but pretending he doesn't exist? Removing all traces?
Sorry, sports don't work that way, especially team sports.
What are you going to do when playing as the 1991 Blue Jays?
????????, 2B
Joe Carter, RF
Kelly Gruber, 3B
Manuel Lee, SS
Rance Mulliniks, DH
Greg Myers, C
John Olerud,1B
Devon White, CF
Mookie Wilson, LFIt's '92, being their first title and it was
- CF Devon White
- 2B ????????????
- DH Dave Winfield
- RF Joe Carter
- 1B John Olerud
- LF Candy Maldonado
- 3B Ed Sprague
- C Pat Borders
- SS Manny Lee
The '93 team was even better..
And Olerud, Molitor, and ?????? Finished 1,2,3 for the batting title..
Anywho....Crazy good... 1-2-3 in the batting race is still nuts. I was a huge fan of all three of those guys (especially Molitor). But yeah, Alomar was trash for me after what he did to John Hirschbeck. All the other stuff that's trickled out over the years has just bolstered that moment. I'm not surprised the Hall of Fame isn't ejecting him, but I am surprised the reason they supplied is that he was in 'good standing' in 2011 when he was inducted. I guess that's a perspective issue given the history he's provided over the years.
-
In fact.. The idea that there's enough evidence now, when this happened in 2014 means that there are witnesses or some record of complaints, which means MLB knew. They know what kind of DB's some of these guys are. If this is the case how do you feel about MLB burying this for 7 years? When it's about to go public they're "shocked" and "Appalled" etc. They likely knew as there was surely a pattern of behavior.

No one is "defending" Alomar. I was simply pointing out that none of us know the facts about this because, and this is the important part, NO ONE HAS SAID ANYTHING PUBLICLY. Again, the lot of you seem to crucify people over accusations but im guessing if some woman came up to you tomorrow and said "Hey...your son/brother/father/best friend sexually assaulted me" and walked away without presenting any form of evidence, you wouldnt be so quick to grab the hammer and nails.

your fake scenario isnt evenm close to what happened here. What would be an accurate comparison would be if
a lady I know and told me an employee of mine sexually harassed her. I had always had an idea my employee wasnt the greatest of people. i hire a private investigator to gather the evidence for me and they provide me with what they found. Now based off the findings if i find what he has done to be despicable then thats my decision to fire him or not. even if what he did was illegal i have the right to fire him bc i dont want something negative associated with my brand/companyThats a closer scenario to the alomar scenario

Not really because you're not MLB in this case. You're a baseball fan like the rest of us being kept in the dark and expected to judge someone on a situation we know nothing about because they say so.
