PSA: Don't Link both PS and XBOX Accounts!
-
I double checked with my son. When I did that he had already unlinked the day before. Try after the server is down this morning.
I hope that works. If it does you should see a different link code on that console.
-
I think the “server exclusivity” error is happening because the PSN and Xbox accounts are still linked to each other.
I haven’t been able to find an option to unlink those accounts.
-
Another day and still broken.

If you unlink the account you get your progress. What they should be more clear about is that Whalen you link accounts, you more or less make a new account, and that's why the progress is wiped
I think it has to do with the order in which you do things, right? I could be wrong, but I think if you create an MLB The Show account and then link a console account, The Show account is dominant and shows no progress. If you create an MLB The Show account, then log out and log back into your console account and link The Show account from there, then the console account is dominant and your progress remains. I think that's what I did when setting up mine and it all worked out fine. I have not tried linking my Xbox account yet though. I think I'll wait until the servers aren't actively on fire.
You are correct. I learned the hard way that there is an order of operations to go with. In my case, this year I am playing on Xbox, so I should have created a Show account and first paired it with my PS account and then after added my Xbox account. At that point I pick using XBox as my primary going forward.
I didn't do that and it showed I had lost everything, but all I had to do was change the primary account on the website to Xbox and all of my progress on Xbox showed again. I lost 30 minutes or so figuring it out, but at least I didn't have to start over.

I haven’t been able to find an option to unlink those accounts.I just logged on using my PSN and Xbox accounts, and yep, those still show as connected. And, no way to unlink them.
I really want to play, but I don't want to advance anything in the "broken" state and have it wiped out if/when they are able to recover my previous progress.
Although it would be very irritating, I wouldn't have a serious issue with starting over progress/mission-wise IF I could get my pre-order bonuses back AND the stubs that I purchased on PSN. Of course, I'd much rather pick up from where I left off before Tuesday.

Getting similar results here and I believe I'm in the exact situation as @bhazlewood_PSN
- I can now login to my Show account on the web and I can see "Connected" for show account, not for Xbox or PSN
- All of my progress made on PS5 shows on my Show account, NOT on PSN account
- Any attempt to log out and log in w/ console to link that way does not work just like others ("platform exclusivity" error)
- Agree that if someone could unlink our console accounts from each other, it would result in a fix or at least let us start the linking process over
- I still have my RTTS equipment available in game on PS5, so that's a good sign (have not checked Xbox GP)

I wish I saw this before I linked everything. Lost everything. Should I tried to unlink now? I submitted a ticket.
Did they respond to your ticket I’m still waiting it won’t let me unlink my accounts

I’ve been waiting on any form of response on my ticket since early Tuesday morning. So, depending on when you submitted, it could be a while sadly.
-
Hello all - I got a response to my ticket today. I responded that none of the steps they want me to try work and I shared the link to this thread in attempt to help. I asked if they could manually unlink my Xbox account on their end as that might fix the problem. What I can say is that I played some RTTS today on PS5 and that progress carried over to my Xbox (stubs and everything). I hope I didn't remove the opportunity for this to be fully fixed though. I don't care about 3000 stubs or any RTTS progress really. Want DD back for dailies and sweet, sweet cards. This all happened right after I juiced up Giambi to Platinum too
-
My progress is carrying over from PSN to XBOX as well but only after everything has been wiped out. I have 3 stubs and a fricken 63 rated pitcher in my collection.
FIX THIS ALREADY SDS! Or tell us it can't be fixed and refund our money!!
-
I would take a "reset" back to April 16th but I hope since I see my progress on my show account inventory that there is some way to reinstate that and overwrite anything after. That's why I'm waiting to play DD. Sucks to miss the dailies, etc though.
-
how can i unlink xbox off MLb the show ?
-
Look towards the bottom here for Unlink instructions. https://theshow.com/faq/
I had better luck with the Website instructions than the In-game instructions, but that was a week ago so might be a bit easier now

Spent even more time this morning going through the PlayStation support chat. This is what I was told:
"After doing a further research I noticed that MLB the Show already confirm there has been some users experiencing this type of issues; however they are already working on a fix to have this sorted out as soon as possible."
They also declined my request for a refund. Basically every incentive we had for pre-ordering the game has been wasted. Not everyone wants their money back, and if SDS would just respond with an update say "Sorry, we're working on it, we screwed up" then I wouldn't either. You know the service is bad when I'm googling how to start one of those stupid petitions or the costs associated with a class action lawsuit. Seriously, SDS, put us out of our misery already.
I’ll gladly sign that .. I was considering a class action lawsuit due to the money they essentially stole from us
-
I can't even link to the mlb the show account. I tried using just username and username as email and it just says error. I can even see what my saved password is for the show but it just keeps coming up as error.
-
I'm already logged in while trying to link to mlb the show. So why would I have to log in again to link? And all my info is saved when I normally visit here so why do I have to re-enter the info? And I know my info so why do I keep getting an error message when trying to link?

So now I lost my Jackie Robinson digital collectors edition stuff, stubs, diamond dynasty team, cards, equipment, progress times and now STUBS for the 3rd time!! I logged on a few minutes ago to 0 Stubs again. I think I am nearing 100k lost Stubs.

Was it just at random? Or did something trigger that. I lost it once and have yet to see the content/voucher for preorder stuff ever again.

Wish me luck...
- I removed my permissions for MLB The Show from my Microsoft account
- Web site was still the same after - Xbox showed connected when I logged into PSN (even though I can't login w/ Xbox acct.)
- PS5 game still did not show inventory that shows on my SHOW web account (the stuff I want) - RTTS can use the equipment earned in DD that shows in my Show inventory but not my earned cards or my saved team in DD
- I'm uninstalling and reinstalling PS5 now to see if that will do anything and hope I didn't screw anything up worse
- For those curious - I found the Xbox cloud experience worse than using PS remote play for lag on pitching and swing timing - MS has a long way to go in the cloud space to even touch Stadia quality / latency levels
