️.You guys refuse to look at the totality of the situation. Has this small time first party studio ever developed a game for another console? No they have not. Have they ever had to prepare a server structure for this many people and across a new platform? That would be a no as well. They were put in a position to do something they've never done before during a global pandemic.
Perspective is key here. The game works, the servers at times have worked. To fix the issues they have to take them down. There is a lot in-store and the game cycle is just beginning. They can take all the time they need to get them working for all I care. Just like in previous years they'll get everything going right and this will be an afterthought.

First, if you are a playstation player, you are screwed because you can't get your money back so that is wrong. Second, they are not a small time studio. They are a AAA developer. Third, if the pandemic or cross platform would have made things too difficult they should have delayed or canceled the game. Four, they have an entire QA team that is supposed to detect issues prior to launch. Fifth, the game does not work. There are whole modes that are broken to the point of being unplayable and the servers only work when everyone it at work. I don't understand this concept of letting a company get away with scamming their customers and releasing a defective product that is not fixed a week later. If you have to take the game down to fix it, then do it.

Well I cannot get my money back because that is not how the refund policy works. The game is defective because whole modes do not work as intended. And in life I do not have to wait generally after I receive the product I paid for. But if you want to defend this kind of behavior fine. I just hope you never complain about any company releasing broken products ever.

Did you get the free packs and stubs that came with pre order? B/c that has value as well. Did you complain when you happily ripped them open, or when you spent the stubs on more packs or players?
Hell no you didn't b/c it benefitted you but now servers are down off and on for less than a week it's all bout torches and pitchforks b/c it doesn't benefit you! Exact definition of Entitled!

Jesus man find a period and some sentence structure. I'm not going to address the totality of the post because you obviously missed the part where MLB forced Sony and SDS to develop the game for Xbox. They had no say, because Sony and SDS don't have a full license for MLB. I'm sure Sony wasn't aware Xbox would be cute and announce it was going to gamepass a week before launch either.
SDS is first party studio for Sony, the only reason they've been able to make the game for this long (remember the MLB 2k days and the kids of MVP Baseball). You can run stress tests at much as you want. This is something they've never done before and they are working on it.

Point was he used $80 he paid for game as a reference and i pointed out that he technically has already got part of his money worth from in game content. Yes it would be nice to use it on consistant basis of course, but he words it like got got completely ripped off which isn't the case.

It is a video game. That I paid a lot of money for. And it does not work. Name me one industry that releases a defective product and expects their customers to be ok with it.
Literally everyone. Apple, SONY, Microsoft, etc etc etc.. It takes time to get tech completely right first try. When they fix things in a couple days I hope you feel silly. You act like they're not doing anything. Be patient or go get your 80 dollars back. Quit acting like 80 dollars is going to bankrupt you. Its 80 dollars
I won't feel silly. Because if it takes them a couple of days it will have been a week plus a couple of days which is awful. If you cannot release the product in a working condition, then you should not release the product. They have an entire team dedicated to making sure that this does not happen. They failed. There is no excuse for releasing a defective product. 80 dollars is a lot of money to some of us. We should not have to "be patient" to get what we paid for.
Did you get the free packs and stubs that came with pre order? B/c that has value as well. Did you complain when you happily ripped them open, or when you spent the stubs on more packs or players?

Well it isn't the case YET as long as they straighten things out.
As i said before the consumer should not have to be patient though..it really isn't right that the game is messed up. -

Its sad how many entitled whiny kids there are commenting on this game. This is a great game. Are the servers being [censored]? Yes....Were there thousands upon thousands of new players playing the game cause its on a new system? Yes. ️.You guys refuse to look at the totality of the situation. Has this small time first party studio ever developed a game for another console? No they have not. Have they ever had to prepare a server structure for this many people and across a new platform? That would be a no as well. They were put in a position to do something they've never done before during a global pandemic.
Perspective is key here. The game works, the servers at times have worked. To fix the issues they have to take them down. There is a lot in-store and the game cycle is just beginning. They can take all the time they need to get them working for all I care. Just like in previous years they'll get everything going right and this will be an afterthought.
First, if you are a playstation player, you are screwed because you can't get your money back so that is wrong. Second, they are not a small time studio. They are a AAA developer. Third, if the pandemic or cross platform would have made things too difficult they should have delayed or canceled the game. Four, they have an entire QA team that is supposed to detect issues prior to launch. Fifth, the game does not work. There are whole modes that are broken to the point of being unplayable and the servers only work when everyone it at work. I don't understand this concept of letting a company get away with scamming their customers and releasing a defective product that is not fixed a week later. If you have to take the game down to fix it, then do it.

I'm not going to address the totality of the post because you obviously missed the part where MLB forced Sony and SDS to develop the game for Xbox. They had no say, because Sony and SDS don't have a full license for MLB. I'm sure Sony wasn't aware Xbox would be cute and announce it was going to gamepass a week before launch either.
SDS is first party studio for Sony, the only reason they've been able to make the game for this long (remember the MLB 2k days and the kids of MVP Baseball). You can run stress tests at much as you want. This is something they've never done before and they are working on it.
SDS had a say on whether they released the game or delayed it, due to MLB forcing them to make it cross platform.
If SDS were unsure of whether they could meet the new requirements, then they should have delayed it. This is basic project management.

Hey look, at the moment I am just going to be patient and assume most of the issues we are seeing in game is server/infrastructure related. I too am a lifetime gamer, but I also work as a software analyst in the QA dept and know how the industry operates. If this is still an issue in May, then I will join the ranks and demand a refund and call a spade a spade.
However i'm not going to come on here and act like a spoiled kid who got his toy taken away.
