Physical copy upgrade worked for me, but if unopened, I would recommend returning and just buying digital copy. It is very annoying moving the physical disc between an old ps4 and the new ps5 each time I play. Description says full game download, so didn't think would need the disc constantly.
Yeah, I don't think a lot of people realize that the disc is still required even if you download the PS5 version.
I did that but it only gives me the option of full game ps4 or tech test ps5

I had no issues with the upgrade. The disc had to be in the PS5, when i selected the game icon, i pressed down and on the right was the "Free PS5 Upgrade". Sucks they misled people to believe it would be a full digital download.
could u give a step by step or some type of way of contact so you can show because i put the code in then i put the disk in and its not giving me that option

I read somewhere that with ps5 it might have something to do with SSD drive, something about it needed to be removed? Not sure

This whole thing is completely ridiculous. I have spent about 10 hours with PS support trying to get this figured out and still nothing. I spent 2 hours last night with a "hardware" specialist and they are trying to tell me that it is an issue with my PS5 and that I might have to send it in to get fixed. There is absolutely no way that is happening. I will pay another $100 before I send my PS5 anywhere. I even tried to uninstall and reinstall the game last night and the PS tech hung up and left because their shift was over while it was reinstalling. Still didn't work. No PS5 upgrade. Does anyone have an answer to this?

Nope. I am in same boat. SDS support asked me one question through my ticket and then... radio silence.

According to EBgames they cant refund me because the problem is coming from Sony. (And I want the hat)
According to Sony (I just called them) they cant do anything because the code voucher came through SDS. And I must contact them.Already did many times.
According to the girl @Sony's tech support, SDS will not answer us at all until the problem is fixed.
I have been playing the show since 2008. I feel betrayed.

Same boat here. My son has a ps4, I have a ps5. I thought if we bought the JR Edition, we could play on both. Turns out, you'll need the disc in the ps5. No big deal. We put the disc in the PS5 and the only option is the PS4 edition game. Even after redeeming the code, the extras work, but no PS5 upgrade. I tried deleting and starting new, no luck.
Has anyone returned an opened game to Walmart? I'd like to take this JR edition back and just get the standard edition on disc for both the ps4 and ps5.**Update: I was able to return the JR edition to Walmart, even though it was opened. At first the CS Rep said I needed to exchange for the same one, but since it wasn't in stock, I was able to get a ps4 and ps5 version instead. I just needed to add the extra $$.

By the way, in case anyone is wondering, I have installed on external hard drive and on the console and neither one works. So don't let Sony tell you the problem is happening because of your external hard drive and hang up on you. That is not true and that happened to me.

Yesterday I got off the phone with Sony tech support and she said that there is an issue with that game and they are working on a fix. Sad that I had to try for 6 days to get an answer, and that I had to get it from them. SDS is garbage at giving us any info at all. She had no ETA on a fix, but did say she thought the game was really broken based on the amount of calls that she had been getting on it this week.

Probably no need for that. I keep seeing more people with the same issue, so I must have just gotten lucky. I doubt the code has anything to do with it. I got the same upgrade with Marvel's Avengers and Yakuza Like a Dragon. Once they enabled the upgrade, all I needed was to have the disc inserted, and the icon [once you selected the game from XMB] on the bottom would show the "Free PS5 upgrade". I ended up selling my physical copy and got the digital one instead.

I noticed this last night on my 3rd reinstall. After the game is downloaded and I'm able to play the PS4 disc on my PS5 I'm unable to find the game in my library. If I go online or to the library on the console the game does not exist. The only Show product in my library is the Test Tech for PS4. Since I'm unable to delete it I hide it in the menu, and I do not have the game in my library. It is like it doesn't exist even though it is in the drive and I'm playing it. I feel like this is not going to be resolved for awhile. It is so easy for them to give us download codes. I saw several people online that they were able to send physical games, hats, shirts, and stuffed animals to. Maybe they should work on taking care of some paying customers.
