You got 20 days to do it. They probably just want people to space it out. Its not meant to be grinded in a weekend. Ive been playing since Friday and even with all the disconnects, I'm at 175K...and i have a life, a job, etc. At the rate Im gaining, i'll have 350K by Thursday and I'll have the program done by the end of next week.
I'm nowhere near saying I need to do it on first weekend. In my previous post I said I'm at 150k right now. But it's just because I played 30 hours in 3 days... If you have job, family and some other things in your life, you can't play so much everyday. My normal playing time is about 2-4 hours max and I'm not playing everyday
@Born2beWild007_PSN : Yes, you get 1500 xp for 3 inning game. But if you do some math, you need 233 three inning games for 350k. That's 11 games per day. And if we say each game is taking 20 minutes, you are still at 4 hours playing everyday...
I think it't too much and last year was a lot more friendly to normal players with families, jobs and so on.
And here you can't say it's time or money, because you can't buy xp (which I would never do)You can actually get a lot more XP then I mentioned. You get 1500+ for each win just playing on Veteran's difficulty but yes, it would still be at at least 3 hours a day which for many isn't too bad.
On the other hand we're talking about struggling to get to 350k when you actually need 650 to finish everything. Clearly that, or anything even close is totally impossible at this point.
It would seem one solution would to give us more days.I haven't played MLB for 3-4 years so much has changed. There must be much more content coming to make 650k achievable? Which I guess would mean downgrading the rewards along the way....
650k is only mean to be achieved by hardcore grinders

I assume there'll be player programs like last year that provides XP for the inning programs....?
There is. A player program and showdown are both on the schedule. Which is why I don't understand all this fuss when the things we are used to getting program stars from aren't even out yet
It's not about making a fuss. It's just about pointing out that, so far, inning program tasks, such as conquest, are much less valuable in regards to earning the inning boss.
Conquest and daily missions are less valuable, yes. Whose to say they aren't going to add more tasks than previous years though. They obviously planned it out to where non early access players are able to get the bosses, so complaining before we even know what's all in store is silly. If it is still a problem at the end of the inning(and I'm just talking getting to 350k, (because there will be people complain about not making out the program when not everyone is meant to, it happens every year), then we have a problem. I wouldn't worry about it during early access. That's just me though
But why wait until the end of the inning where there is no chance for an adjustment and we just lose out whereas speaking up now can give them a chance to still course correct. Do I expect that today's player program or the 23rds showdown will show a course correction? Nope those #s have probably already been planned out and in the game code I bet they just have to "flip a switch" so to speak. But the sooner SDS sees there's an issue the sooner something can be done about it.
I'm saying they might add more tasks then ever before to gain XP. We don't know. Last years first inning just had the showdown, conquest, preorder collection, 2 player programs, and online mission. How to we k ow there won't be more missions or player programs added we don't know. XP from games is being gained at the same rate (except with server problems). Most players didn't get the inning bosses until the 2nd player program last year. Not being done after 4 days before everyone else gets the game is fine
I don't think anyone is complaining that they aren't done after 4 days. People are looking at how much they have played over those 4 days, how much XP they've accumulated, and seeing how far they still are away from the inning boss. That leads people to wonder if they will even be able to earn that boss. When you see that you're completing the tasks given to you in the inning program (I understand there will be more tasks given) and it doesn't seem to be really making a dent, that leads to concern for people.
Again, I could complete the conquest and showdown in a few days of the start of the inning program in 20 and I could see that I was a 1/3 of way to the inning boss. It's clearly different and you're much further away from that boss in this year's game.
They could be adding a lot of different programs and tasks to earn XP towards the inning but at this rate, it seems like they're going to have to add a whole lot for those of us who can't play 10 hours a day.

I'm gonna get the specifics wrong, but if anyone remembers from the Show 16, there were like 3 or 4 bosses or categories. You'd pick one or assign it as your 'live' category and any XP (or whatever the measurement of progress was for 16) you'd earn would get attributed to progress under that particular category. You were in complete control and could change it at any point and start earning progress in one of the other categories.
A similar concept might be helpful for these programs. i.e. if we get to the second inning and you missed completing the first inning program, you could assign the first inning program as your 'live' program. All in-game XP that is earned would accumulate under the first inning program. Any program-specific things such as conquest maps or showdown would only apply to the inning program they were created for, but this would allow people to go back and complete programs they might not have had time for previously.
Inning programs offer progressively better rewards with each inning so the incentive would still be to have the current program as your 'live' one for in-game XP, but this would allow people the flexibility to go back and complete things if life/work gets in the way.
-
Just like years before they will look at xp after the first inning is finished and adjust accordingly
-
And what do you know. Eric Davis program is 35,000 XP add another player program, the showdown (which will be worth more XP) and that's basically half the program worth
-
Of course. It’s not like they didn’t calculate or test this before. Maybe the dramatic crybabies can relax a little now
-
35k for player program is nice. I expected much less xp, but this is good. Maybe SDS are adjusting a little
-
Biggest issue is daily missions being worthless and only worth as much as about a 1/2 inning!! They are 10x less useful then they have in the past. Seems like they missed a zero for the daily missions because they are pointless to worry about.

Keep fueling the toxicity before the full game drops. Great way to welcome in those new XB users.

There is also double XP this coming weekend, which was likely planned from the start. good enough for you all?

I’m not here to please anybody else buddy. I call it like I see it.

I have 80k already after one day online and I haven't even finished most of the content yet. It seems like they're so generous with the XP you get for just playing the game that you almost don't even need to worry about the specific program tasks. I think some people are really overthinking this. For pretty much everyone who's able to put a minimal amount of effort into it, there will be more than enough time to earn a boss. Anything after that is just intended to be a bonus for the true diehards who play all day every day so they still have a reason to keep going.

Quit searching for ways to earn XP and just play the game and you will have an easier time getting there. I'm at 85,000 XP myself and I haven't even played as much as I like
Yeah, I’ve played maybe 10-12 hours since launch and I’m at 260k. Conquests, moments, nothing online yet, piles up quick when you can’t hit those 3 xbh with McMahon, made 9k just failing that for an hour+

23+ hours of game played and I have 123k xp... 113 games played ( most offline ) grinding atm to get a decent team ( no money spent )
However I haven't finished the 1st inning collection 50k xp ( 8 x 42 series card ) im at 4 right now ( sold P. Martinez and H. Aaron for stubs for Live collection ) or I would be at 6 total but the Live collection is my priority
And.. I havent finish the 1st inning conquest map
These 2 will give me 65k and maybe take another +/- 7 hours of gameplay
So quick calculation after 30 hours of gameplay I should be around 200k
Counting that I wont be able to get much after all these are completed because moments and conquest maps will be done
I will counting on playing games, daily missions ( roughly 1000 xp/day ) for xp
The 200k and over xp progress will take much longer to process....
OMG this is nonsense.
Im not complaining just stating the factsWhat? I call bs or you ain’t doing it right, I’m over 200k. It’s only been like 3 days , if you at 123 you will easy make boss bu the time the season ends
-
It’s sort of discouraging. I’ve grinder my tail off so far , sitting at star rank 20. My buddy played first inning conquest and a single season of March to october and somehow got all 650k xp for it.
-
honestly wouldnt be as bad if collections still gave you XP.

Agreed. But that would only really help you early on. What would you do to get xp for second and third inning programs and so on?

Yeah except several people have been given all 650k xp due to some glitch so to be fair , we’re not all on an even playing field.
-
Agreed.
They also removed XP from ranked season promotions, as well as took the XP out of the various non-inning-related collections you do.
