At least you got a diamond bro. Take it from me, that's not bad. You're better off buying players off the market. Of course that isn't as exciting as opening packs, but yeah it doesn't frustrate like the packs do.
That's not bad? That's pathetic. I don't have time to grind programs and/or earn even stubs to field a decent team. Which is why I went the route of packs. I wanted to give online a try since RTTS and franchise are basically the exactly same as the past 3 years.
Okay well I was just trying to ease the pain, it's not bad despite your sentiment. Take it from me. Or don't, I'm fine either way.
-
This is gambling though. You basically had a sure thing aka 150k stubs to use as you see fit. That’s actually an option EA doesn’t give you outside of a few lost cost packs that return coins. Btw they actually got rid of those and actually raised the price of them without warning for those who didn’t buy them yet.
I understand gambling and losing sucks but don’t even bring EA into this as some type of positive for that company. EA has the brutal packs odds and don’t offer a direct way to buy coins.
SDS has a much better model.

The thing is that DD is for the long haul you have to grind and if you spent $100 you could have easily picked up 3 of the 42 series legends or there are a number of low level diamonds that are in the 85-87 range that would be competitor the next 2 weeks for sure. That said you have to keep at this as each month the cards get bigger and better and just pulling packs won't get the job done. You have to put in the work that is way DD isn't like the rest as you can put in the time and you will be rewarded

The marketplace and set up on the show is better. But I've never once spent $100 on Madden and only walked away with one lousy 85+ player. Infact the most I've ever spent on Madden's MUT is $40 for an entire year. And I play that a hell of a lot more then this [censored].
But lesson learned I guess. Def won't spend another dollar on stubbs ever again

You stated, "The game is boring since you basically did nothing to offline modes".
My question is, what would you have done to the offline modes to improve them?
Yes, those YouTubers do show videos where they're pulling diamonds. However, they don't usually show the countless packs ripped where they get nothing. If we could get 5-7 diamonds everytime someone spent 100.00 the market would be flooded and prices would be cheap. That's great for the players that spend money on stubs and packs but hurts those of us that work the market to complete the collections. I enjoy working the market about as much as playing the game. Sometimes, I enjoy it more than playing.
-
It sounds like you didn't do your research before blowing $100. Like others have said, you could've bought $100 of stubs and hand picked a few diamond players for yourself off the market instead of going the [censored] shoot route.
-
as others have said, live and learn I suppose. The pack odds are posted when you purchase them. The odds of pulling a diamond are 1/50. But of course odds are a statistical average over the life of the game for ALL packs pulled, not your packs.
That $100 could have completed the Cardinals LS collection and you'd have a 90 OVR 3B and 1B.
You could have completed the VERY cheap twins collection for a great 89 diamond and had most of your stubs left.
You could have bought several diamonds off the market. So next time, don't buy packs

Yeah the odds are right there and the house is always going to get their cut.
If gambling was a sure thing I wouldn't be getting up for work right now.
This is a videogame. Not gambling. In gambling I win real money. Not some card that expires after a year. Maybe they should make the odds a little more clear. As someone who never plays DD, I didn't realize it was hidden behind a [censored] button
Pack odds button is right next to the button is shows you to open the pack with. Also, this is a video game, I hope it is made to make you spend time playing.

EA isn’t that shady? lol okay. I’ve play FUT 12-21 and I never packed a gold or special version of Ronaldo, Messi, or Neymar. Nor have I ever packed an icon (legend). $100 in fifa gets you f**k all. Maybe a few 84-87 if you’re lucky. SDS pack odds are WAY better than EAids

First, 100.00 worth of packs is a VERY bad strategy. Second,, what would you have done with offline modes? It's baseball. There's only so much that can be done with it.
I am not sure what you mean.. What would I have done with offline modes? I've been buying and playing the show since like 2011. I always stick to offline mode. Outside a little conquest and moments I don't play DD. I figured I would give it a try this year.
Yeah I know that now. I see all these youtube people pulling packs and getting diamonds. I wasn't expecting an all star line up. But for $100 I figured I'd get at least 5-6 diamonds. Never again. Clearly SDS is giving these people diamonds to trick people into buying the [censored].
I too watched Troydan pull Mike Trout. I also watched Troydan buy $1,000 in stubs.
Youtube guys aren't strategists, they are content creators. People like watching them open packs. So here are a coupe little secrets maybe you weren't aware of.
1: if you create content and make even 1 penny off of advertising, you are now a business and have to claim said income. As soon as you are legally able to claim income, you can also claim expenditures. Those guys write all of those purchases off on their taxes, they aren't REALLY paying for packs. They're just loaning the money to the SDS until April, then they are reimbursed in the form of a tax return.
2: When you make a video, you can edit them before posting them. This includes the ability to edit out packs that do not have diamonds. This allows the video to move along quicker, it keeps the video more interesting, and it keeps people watching the video until the end. Videos that have 80% or more "completion" by viewer receives more advertising dollars from youtube.
I hope that helps

Bad take man. The twitch streamers and Youtubers spend hundreds and thousands of dollars to create content. And as someone already said, it’s a tax write off. That money is coming right back to them. Then the big names like YFK, Koogs, Shelfy, etc who have massive followings on Twitch and Youtube, etc are making all that money back via views and subscriptions. At one point this weekend Kyle and Koogs has 10k plus people in their streams. Each. Kyle had a level 5 sub train going and easily made $2,000 (that he spent already) so he profited purely from streaming. But that’s also the part you don’t see. These guys rip 100’s of packs and then edit their videos down to 20ish minutes that just highlight their diamond pulls. So you may have seen someone pull 5-8 diamonds, but it’s out of hundreds of packs, and hundreds of dollars spent.

Exactly. $100 in packs on FIFA, and good luck getting a walkout, much less something like an ICON or Ronaldo/Messi/Neymar/Mbappe, etc. You are lucky to even get an 83 in packs on that money sink.

They really should have added a squad battle type experience this year. It would be nice to have an offline mode that is 9 innings that isnt just an exhibition.

But this is like those people who put up videos of crazy trick shots. They don’t put up videos of the 850 tries that didn’t work, it’s only the one that works, or in this case the videos of the good pack pulls that get shown.
Normal odds were always about 1 diamond in every 50 packs. Which could also be equipment or a stadium or sponsorship. You just got somewhat unlucky.

I believe it actually says diamond player odds are 1:50.

Maybe you’re right. The point stands. If it’s 1-in-50 odds of pulling a diamond player, then in 100 packs or so, getting 2 diamonds is average, 1 is somewhat unlucky, 0 is very unlucky.

I never bought card packs before. And since well the rest of this game is boring since you basically did nothing to the offline modes, I figured what the hell, maybe I'll give DD a try. So I bought $100 worth in packs. I got one [censored] diamond. ONE. A 87 overall Lindor cost me $100 dollars lol.
Wow SDS. Just wow. Even EA isn't that shady
What is shady about it? You can actually access the odds on the store page before you buy.
Some people seem to believe that 1:50 odds somehow means that you are guaranteed a Diamond card if you open up 50 packs. That is not how odds work.

I can tell you from playing The Show and Madden... the pack odds in The Show are absolutely terrible. Don't buy packs... just get your stubs and cards through playing the game and if you want to buy stubs with real money... use the stubs to buy cards directly off the marketplace.

i mean dude think of what you just paid for - a digital card that really is worthless by any measure
are you also the guy who gets really upset spending $25 for a popcorn and soft drink combo at the movie theatre?
