PS5 Downloading both versions, do I need them

Tatis is Cover boy that is why it shows up, Only time you need to worry about ps4 version is when you get the hard copy version b/c it needs the disc to play on ps5. How many gigs did it download of each version? Ps5 will be bigger than ps4 due to stadium creator.
I would guess both download so you can't use ps4 version on another account and double dip pre-Order bonuses.
I have Digital Deluxe ps4 only i think it was like 44 gigs. Past years it has been like 60 gigs, so seems like that could be indication of a more optimized game.

So I had both versions downloading last night and now I see only one version that they are both downloaded. Anyone else have this issue? It’s saying my game is the PS4 version. I preordered the ps5 game on a ps5

Sorry I meant the Jackie versions which don't have a stand alone ps4 or ps5 version of the game on the retail market.
Will it be 1 disc that works in both the ps4 and ps5, or will they just toss in copies of both games and include the dlc code...

They already announced physical versions will be a ps4 disc with a ps5 download code. You will need to put the ps4 disc in the ps5 as an authenticator key even though it won't be used for the game. You should not buy a physical Jackie Robinson edition if you have or plan on purchasing a digital ps5.

This is the 4th game I’ve bought that has does this. Your more than okay to delete the other copy, it’s just taking up space. If you don’t have room for both, the PS4 version will download first and you may not realize until you load the game on Friday that it’s the PS4 version installed. I’m sure this happens to many people tbh.

I would guess size of file. One has Stadium creator other doesn't? Or are they both same size?

The ps4 version says the game title - ps4 on it, you can easily tell. It’s just weird that both download in my opinion.

My PS5 started pre-downloading both the ps5 and ps4 versions of the game, do I need both or can I delete the ps4 version?
It is also showing the ps5 version as standard edition even though I bought digital deluxe
Sony needs to work on this there is no reason that both versions should preload on the same console.
I need to wait and see the DD stream before I will even pre-order.
The fact that Sony can't figure out how to make the correct version download in 2021 is a little embarrassing. Clearly Microsoft had enough foresight with Smart Delivery. Did Sony just not think this would be an issue? Do they not know how to make it work, or was there just not enough time before launch with people working from home?
I guess it could be worse. Sony may overlook some things and make boneheaded tone deaf decisions at times, but at least they're not eating paste in the corner like Nintendo.

I've never had to do that on a pre order download. I have when i bought it after launch but never on a pre order as far i can remember. I don't think? You messin with the ol man's memory?

I'm now confused a lot. Just started download from my PS5 library and it shows I'm downloading PS5 Standard edition... I bought Jackie's Deluxe Digital, so what is going on?

You will get your cards & stubs after you open the game, when the game connects to the sds server the pre order bonuses will be there.
