What is the VERY FIRST THING you do when you load MLB 21?
-
- Go into create a stadium
- See if I can create a section for PS4 users to sit directly behind poles so they can't get a full view of the field
-
Complain about the hitting to ensure they won't make any game breaking tweaks due to our enthusiasm.

lol I didn’t get this at first but I read it again and it’s Gold.

This is the first time I'll be playing DD at launch so I'm excited to get in on the ground floor and start from scratch. All of these tips have been helpful.
-
I usually play a Play Now game as the Cardinals against the Cubs. Then I open my packs in DD.
-
I’m probably going to rip a few hundred packs to start getting collections done and play BR to get some of the higher end cards for collections.
-
Logo and uniforms. Gotta be clean.
Packs
Market
Conquest -
Forgot to add, I'll be exploring the Custom League menu and thinking about how many times the dude from the other thread will be a smashing his face with a paddle...

You think he might end it all over online franchise? Should we call someone? He seemed really upset. Like I’ve never seen that level of upset.

Going to hop right into the live series collection & start putting in buy now orders for all the diamonds. Once I reach my order limit I’ll go work on my uniforms. Then go back into the collection & put in buy now orders for all golds then go play some BR. Then I’ll go back into the collection & put in buy orders for all remaining cards...Lastly I’ll come on here with the 99 Hank Aaron collection rewards and say “Look what I did - NMS!!!” Totally lying but do it just to agitate the real NMS crowd
-
I do all my cosmetic things first like team name and jerseys. This year that will include tinkering with a new stadium, I am sure it will be ugly as sin, but it will be fun to put together.
After that I'll spend the only 50 bucks I will ever spend on the game to buy a bundle of packs to help the squad get a headstart. Rip all those and get to playing. Excited to get going.

You haven't seen that level? I'm surprised that you haven't watched any JJ videos... Heh

0.5) Play through annoying intro game while it loads --- probably popping 2-5 trophies during that game.
- Claim pre-order bonuses
- Hop into DD and create team/quick creation of uni's (I do very simple stuff with logos because I dont care to waste that kind of time)
- Rip pre-order packs, check out launch day programs, etc and quick look at market/LS collections (who are diamonds, golds, etc) and try to figure out if there are any decent investment opportunities (be a bit different launching 2 weeks into the season this year)
- Start with conquest tutorial map -- give new pitching mechanics a shot to see if i can figure out how to use it. also start to get timing back with hitting.
- Start the big USA conquest map for free stuff (and more practice)
Maybe hop into a ranked game or 2 with a starter squad for fun.

If I can get my PS5 by 4/16, I am 100% for this.

So, you're not going to sell off any high inflated players and just wait to buy them back?

First thing i am gonna do is tell my kids a week ahead of time that it is, Mandatory National Study for School Weekend, then i'm locking the door. They ask for food tell them to go study home economics!

I probably should. I felt like last time I did it this way it took way longer to do the collections because now you have to wait for stub prices to go down to finish the collections. I’m probably going to see how the market looks. But if I can really do well in DD and I can get a few 12-0s and if the Diamond cards are at 9 wins — I might just try to really complete as much as I can.
I know it’s kinda stupid to do it this way but I want those collection rewards ASAP this season.

Yeah. If you're going to play online; it makes sense to get them done ASAP.
I'm going to be strictly offline this year, except maybe for Events, so whether I get them give ASAP or later; it won't matter to me.
Only things that may factor into my decision is how easy it is to make stubs, how they gave it set up to get bosses (if they still have them(, and if Aaron is the LS Reward with Clemente and whomever they pick for the AL; how long the market stays inflated.

Go straight to BR? Ranked? Create your uniform? Conquest? Showdown? Player program? Topps Now?
Inquiring minds want to know...

No in all seriousness. I usually start off going to store claim rewards for pre-order (that's a gimme for every1 i imagine). I then take a look at all the rewards available, Free 1rst BR Entry, Free 1rst Showdown entry (If still there) Conquest, 1rst inning program, player programs if any, Moments, xp path, and then TA and then map out how rewards will help in the next game i decide to play. Based off of lineups i made from pre-order packs.
If servers are down then it will be toss up between RTTS or MTO maybe tinker in BP Just to get the feel of the bat and pitching. but i think it will be fine.

Anyone else thinking the create-a-stadium feature will get stale fast? The one thing that made it fun in MVP 05 was having to start modest, add seating while winning to increase the budget and so on? Now that I’ve moved online pretty much permanently, I don’t see it as game selling. Franchise, sure ok.
