After reading a few posts from you guys it is now clear to me that several of you are not comprehending anything I have said. You read it, but don’t comprehend it. Maybe I did a poor job of explaining it, but none the less, result is you don’t get it.
Download OOTP problem solved
It’s disturbing to me that you still can’t comprehend simple explanations. I am beginning to wonder if you have a cognitive disorder.
It's funny how you say no one can comprehend what you are saying yet you refuse to listen to what is being told to you. Ironic.
What you are asking for is simply not doable no matter what game engine is in use, period. If you have human interaction into the game, players will never play like the real life person. People are great at the game, people are bad at the game and people are average and everything in between.
To be honest with you, even OOTP wouldn't be a solution because in that game, you will still have players playing above ratings and having monster years when their ratings don't show they should. There is just no way to get what you want when people playing the game are involved.
You keep going on about this game engine yet it still would not change anything, period. If a guy in real life is a decent home run hitter so you're engine allows him to hit for power and someone who is extremely good at the game will do amazing things with that player. He will hit way more home runs than that player should so thw what? The game limits the amount of home runs he can hit with him? If the game blocks you from doing better than what the player can in real life, no one would play this game. It would be boring, predictable and users would be taken right out of the game.
There is absolutely a way to do it, its just you don’t understand it. I do listen to you guys and I understand your point of view and the games that you like. The problem is you don’t understand my point of view.
Quite simply put, no there isn't unless you take out people actually playing the game. Game engines and whatever else you want to out out there means absolutely nothing if you don't take into the factor people's ability to play the game at different levels. Only way to do it is to make the game decide the outcome to keep averages and stats in line with real life statistics.
Nothing to do with a lack of understanding, lots of people have said the same thing. You cannot do it unless thw game alters outcomes. If thats what you are looking for and actually get it, enjoy that one or two copies of it because the game will disappear very quickly.
Negative, if you go back and read everything again you may grasp what I am trying to say. Just because you make a sports game realistic, does not mean you take away user vs user competition. I think that’s the part you are having trouble understanding.
Again, because it makes zero sense and is not possible. If you have a 285 hitter and pitching rebel is using him, how does he hit 285 without the game creating outcomes? I've read everything you have out out there and nothing explains how. How does a guy who can hit anything thrown because he has the reflexes of a robot hit only 285 without the game limiting him? How do you create proper on base percentages if it's 2 users playing and no one pitches the ball outside the strike zone?
Once again, the only way to do it is for the game to limit the amount you are allowed to hit and then its not true pvp, it's worse than what is out there now.
So that’s what you don’t get. You are controlling someone hitting and pitching, it’s not actually you doing it. Now I get why you were not understanding it.
What?? Lol. Is it me in the video game? Is that a real question? No its a made up bunch of pixels to simulate baseball. However, you STILL bypassed what was said and instead you throw it on me not understanding.
I read and get what you said. You don’t get what I have been saying.
So why can you not answer what I said? How does rebel hit 285 when the guy can hit anything thrown if you don't take the user out of the game and how do you create proper on base when you have user vs user and thwy throw only strikes? If you say you understand so deeply on how it works, throw it out there. You've glossed over it every single time saying people don't understand. Make people understand. Shouldn't be too hard just simply by understanding those 2 questions. If you don't limit the user by the game itself, how is it possible?
I don’t know who you are referring to so I will just use you for an example. Keep in mind when I explain this that it’s not you actually hitting and pitching, it’s the player you are controlling and should be represented properly. Let’s say you are using player (x) that hits .300 batting average for a season. That same player has data on him in each part of the zone (even outside the zone) with different pitch types and speeds. The pitcher also has data on him in each part of the zone with different pitch types and velocity. Those two forces should be competing against each other as well as user input. If you are swinging at good pitches to hit (for that particular player) you should put up similar numbers in each part of the zone (and outside of it) to properly represent said players abilities. Same goes on the pitching end. All the data is out there on scouting reports. It’s up to the user to get the most out of said player. In no circumstances should you be hitting .700 with any player over a season long scenario. Why you ask, because no player has ever done that. Remember, there are 3 factors that should come into play, the player that you are using, the player that your opponent is using, and user input. I don’t expect you to like this style of gameplay. I just hope I explained it throughly enough for you to understand where I am coming from and how it could be done.

You STILL have not said how it can be done without thw game limiting things so that averages fall into place. You STILL haven't said anything about on base when 2 people are playing and how it's strike after strike. You STILL haven't said how it would work, just the guidelines of how you think it should get there. You STILL haven't answered the questions. Obviously, it's either a troll or you just simply do not know. Either way is fine, its killing time for me but to say that people don't understand something then just throw out vague statements won't help anything.
How does a new game engine fix this so called issue? Why does it not work with ratings? Player ability is basically ratings regardless on how you perceive them and the game uses them, the player vs them and the user input to do what it's doing now so what would change? With player input, you will never nor could you ever have what you are asking for.

Exactly, unless the game interferes. So you hit the ball with what should be a home run, but since you are above your player's average, the game will make the ball fall short and be caught for an out.
-
You're asking for a game with 0 user input, basically if I'm using Juan Soto and he hits .305 on fastballs middle in I should only be able to hit like .315-20 max on those pitches no matter how good I am at the game lol hilarious

You are comparing real life players stats that play a normal season of 162 games vs people who play between 500 to 1400 games. The averages are gonna be higher.

This entire thread reminds me of the early 90s when my friends and I were into Madden football and used to organize tournaments. Let me remind you this was pre-internet days, well, at least before broadband.
So we would met up at someone's house where we had 4 TVs with 4 Playstations and about 16 people. Back then user skill mattered but player stats mattered more. Everyone would pick their favorite team and play, until we started charging an entry fee that the winner would take 100% of. Once we did that, everyone wanted to use the Cowboys, the 49ers, or the Bills or it wouldn't be a fair game. Eventually we all had to use the "all madden" team where all the player stats were 99 in every category to make it fair.
So, is that want you want?

Yes; that’s why there’s Special Olympics.
Very rude!! Get the hell outta here! Punk!
How is that rude? People with disabilities compete at the special Olympics to make the competition level fair for them..
How is it rude? By implying that the only sports people with dissabilities can partake in is the Special Olympics! I find it very rude and racist toward people with disabilities.
Same thing people said to Jackie Robinson . "That's what the Negro League is for!" Same exact premise and i am apauled.

I wasn’t aware disabled is a race, but whatever.
I believe the poster meant to say ableist, which is exactly how I took the comment as well. This thread is a perfect example of the "toxicity" that I see in online gaming.
Thank you! sorry i wasn't specific, but i did think it was obvious to most people with a brain and common sense.
There’s a difference between not being specific and saying the completely wrong thing.
Well my fault for assuming people could read between the lines and see the obvious.
It’s okay, I forgive you for using the completely wrong term.
And i forgive your parents for raising an ignorant child!
As a black man, I find that incredibly racist.
Your a man? Try acting like it then!
Now you’re being sexist. I’m disappointed in you.

Actually those sample sizes are both statistically significant so the averages should be representative of the skill of each group.

The OP wants the player's stats to mean something, I used to agree with this, but I have learned that's impossible. The only way to do this would be like a manager mode where you control the overall strategy but you don't control the actual players.
That would be a boring game to play. It’s actually pretty cool, you should check it out. There is a whole market for that - MoM in The Show is very popular.
One of the good things about Franchise mode.

The special olympics is there in fact for people with disabilities because they cannot preform at the level of actual olympians. It’s to include people with disabilities because they fall way short of the level of competition and skill that is needed to compete at a high level. Equating that to race is a whole different thing. The negro leagues where excluding people based on a racial identity that were at the same or higher level of skill. Apples and oranges.

Closed minded? I think In reality. And I’m not trying to virtue signal with how woke I think I am.
You are completely out of touch if you think the struggle of black Americans in baseball is anywhere near remotely comparable to the special olympics. They are completely different things. One is inclusion of the less fortunate the other is the exclusion based on identity.
They are literal opposites. But keep virtue signaling a lot of us see through it

With player input, you will never nor could you ever have what you are asking for.
Exactly, unless the game interferes. So you hit the ball with what should be a home run, but since you are above your player's average, the game will make the ball fall short and be caught for an out.
He doesnt want what he’s saying — read through the lines — what this guy wants is for everyone to have to play at his max level of skill. Because like most of us. He doesn’t like losing. But his approach to it is just different. He wants to compete and rig the competition so that he can be a top player in his world.
That’s what I’ve gathered from his posts over the last few years
