I got a one on launch day by spending an hour and a half or so at like 1:00 am clicking madly on Best Buys web site. I chose in store pickup at my local store because I assumed they would get some launch day stock and that my chances of getting one of them was better than trying to get it shipped.

I got my Xbox Series X off of Craigslist. I paid $200 over face & met the guy at my local police station’s safe meetup zone. Transition went smooth...New in box & the guy even had all the extended warranty paperwork for me.

Twitter pages, as others said. I got mine through the bundles that GameStop offers. Scalpers don't want the extra controller or the gift cards so if you are willing to spend about 200 more for the extras it's a great way to get one

Target. In store pickup. Follow Jake Randall on Twitter for stock updates. Constant refresh on Target in both phone app and online. I got one in my cart and refreshed for thirty minutes -- purchase went through.

I swear I must have been the luckiest person on earth after reading this.

No joke, was at work at 9am and thought I’d check to see if there was any news on release as I hadn’t checked for a few days or so. So I jumped onto JB Hi-Fi website and they were available to preorder so I did. Paid $50 deposit and the balance a week or so later and as I said I got the call a few days before to arrange pickup time.

I do feel bad for those who have been wanting and waiting for months. I seriously must have been the luckiest person on the internet that day. Thankfully no problems with it either.

I vastly overpaid, but used money I made scalping prizm football and hoops blasters (only time I ever did it, but hit the mother load a couple days after New Years when a restock happened on a day the stalkers weren’t there)

I got mine last week from Best Buy thanks to Twitter stock alerts. The only two places it seemed like I had any kind of chance was Target and Best Buy. All the other stores felt like it was primarily bots getting them. PS direct is pretty much a lottery.

Also a key thing is when buying online go to the very bottom of what’s selling don’t go for the first thing because that’s what everybody is trying to buy

A tip for PS direct, you can join the queue multiple times by using several browsers. I had my work laptop and my personal laptop with 6 browsers each in the queue each time they dropped and got one on the second drop they had.

I'm not willing to camp outside of a Gamestop next to a pack of unwashed neckbeards, and I'm not dropping a sweet stack on eBay to buy an empty box. So how do normies get a PS5? There are a lot of websites dedicated to tracking the PS5 restockings, but they all seem either sketchy or outdated or probably a front for the mafia.

If you've gotten a PS5, how did you do it? And what is your address and work schedule?

I was on the WalMart drop 3/18 that started at 3pm eastern. Dealt with the normal sell out in 1 second stuff for each drop 3pm, 310pm 320pm etc. Finally was able to add to cart at 4pm and check out. What I learned for WalMart is use the APP and have all payment information saved, finally, be patient. Sony direct has better security in place for bots, since you can only buy one per playstation id(which is needed) to purchase, the downside is you are randomly assigned a place in the queue.

Good Luck, I wasn't trying every day like some, but I finally will see mine delivered 4/9.

Bought it off eBay. Kept losing out on retail drops so I bit the mullet and spent a little more than I wanted to but at least I don’t have to hunt anymore

I scored one at retail yesterday from Sony direct. They do a lottery system, so just open a bunch of browsers/tabs to inflate your odds

There isn’t any good games yet on ps5. It’s all mostly ports. No point in stressing to try and get one

Hotstock seems to be best way, I'm getting alerts, but have not had an opportunity to pull trigger, mostly due to being out of stock before I can get there, but I have high hopes I'll land one soon, long before 21 drops.

Got one today during the Target drop. Followed some of the trackers on Twitter. They had tips and notices when the drops were likely to happen. Didn’t put any effort in until the past couple days and snagged one already. Suppose I’m lucky. Watching Twitter was the key for me.

Another tip for store pick up options at Walmart, Best Buy, or target is don’t be afraid to drive a couple hours. My local target, in a more populated town, was sold out instantly but the store about an hour south, in no mans land, had multiple so I snagged two.

Just keep up with a lot of what these guys are saying though. Peep Twitter a few times a day and be persistent. It’s not too much effort and in the end it is soooo worth it. Good luck!
