How tf does a guy get his hands on a PS5 without paying $800 - $1200
I got the version of 21 with a hard copy for PS4 and a digital copy for PS5 but I don't know if I'm even gonna be able to get a PS5 before MLB 22 comes out. Anyone else thinking the same thing?

Doesn’t really answer his question.
I know. Just felt compelled to share.

Congrats on securing one, I'm just hoping to get one before '22 comes out at this point. It's getting even more ridiculous with the scalping, Sony shouldn't sell to retailers who are only selling online at this point. It's a battle of the BOTs on every website and nobody is doing anything about it. I worry about the long term effects on the gaming industry due to this problem. There is such a small percentage of PS5s and XBox's that have been registered even though plenty have been sold. Having them sit in limbo expecting people to overpay on the secondary market is going to hurt a lot of gaming manufacturers. Tough to sell games when the units aren't being used.

Follow this Twitter account, turn on notifications for your phone. Its how I got mine direct from the manufacturer. I was skeptical at first, but Sony Direct requires you to sign in first, so I signed in and without putting any information in all my info was there. So its legit.

Follow Jake Randall on Twitter, he has inside info on who has stock and when they are going to release it. He also has tutorial videos on youtube going about the best way to quickly add a ps5 and checkout for each different website. He also live streams on youtube when a drop is about to happen. I watched his live stream for a Target drop he had info on, and secured one my first try with him.

Wait until August.

Probably just requires perseverance at this point. I got mine at launch but it took and hour and a half of clicking on Best Buys overwhelmed web site at like 1:00 in the morning. I also made the wise choice to pick up at the local store thinking that the demand might be less at my local store than the demand for the console to be shipped direct.

Finally got lucky after an hour today. Walmart dropped at 3pm. 4pm is when I was finally able to get it added to the cart and close the deal. Expected delivery date of 4/9.

[censored] yeah welcome to the club bro.

My problem is that I can't afford a PS5 without trading in or selling my PS4 first, so I have no choice but to wait until things settle down enough that I can physically walk into a Gamestop and grab one.
