I get what you saying, I just think it’s weird to bat .400 with a player that hits .250 in person. Not really important to get the better cards if you can perform with lesser ones. I’m too old I guess, I like games a little more grounded to reality.

i am old also so i get ya 🙂 . But that person who is batting .400 the next quetion is,

How good is the guy pitching to him? If your leaving meatballs in zone then that changes from 2 out of 100 to maybe 50 out of 100.

Sure, a handful of people could make it to world series with those kinds of cards. That isn't the issue at hand. If i match up with a player of equal skill to mine. For argument sake say we have even teams and in a ten game series, we each win 5 games. Now, say we play an 11th game and my opponent uses the typical BR silver team and I have a god squad that I worked my [censored] off for for months. Who should win that game? DD is much more than simply making it to world series. Yes world series should be a goal, but without building your team up first there is literally no sense of playing this game

Simple! Whoever plays the best! Just cuz you have god squad does not mean automatic victory. You still have to Pitch,Bat,Field and Baserun at a good level.

How can I get those Twitch packs once the game come out?

They are coming back. Twitch updated their Drops system and we are working through getting it updated.

You gotta believe that stats still matter. Getting the best cards is kind of their whole business plan at this point.

If a player is that much better than me (which is not hard) I expect that they could easily beat my best squad with a team of all bronze. It was true in the past and it will be true in the future.

I assume that the PAR of a 99 control pitcher on their primary will be much smaller than that for a pitcher with 60 control.

I assume a perfect perfect hit with Babe Ruth will fly much farther and much faster that a perfect perfect hit with Ozzie Smith.

The want you to buy packs. They want you to grind programs. It would be idiotic for them to hamstring their marketplace.

They better not take out Analog Stride hitting, cause I don't want to hit like I'm playing duck hunt target shooting.

On competitive it should really only be zone or zone plus analog imo. If not you leave room for complete randomness.

Randomness!..its all timing with your stride...hmmmmm like a real baseball swing.....I can't imagine how DD casual noob guys play by pointing a target and then pressing X...wtf?..that's so silly.

Timing with your stride no matter where the ball is...zone and zone plus analog have to not only time the pitch but place the bat on the ball.

Stride skips an entire step and makes for random outcomes because it assumes because you timed the ball your bat was in the right place?? Or did you swing over it? Under it? Oh that’s right...you have no idea. Because it’s random

Look at it this way bud. If player has .250 in real life that is based off of 162 games max in regular season.

In MLBTS alot of people can play anywhere between 300 to 1400 games that is also gonna factor into batting avg.

I don't focus on that aspect of a card being realistic when it comes to (batting avg) as much as i do when it comes fielding, speed, batting stance, batting motion, and looks.

In fact it helps me if i am facing a guy that is batting .400 with a guy who is silver or bronze.

That is a red light for me and say [censored] this person can hit with this guy with lower vision. So i might approach him differently with my pitcher so it can also act as a tool.

Grrrrrrr was supposed to be part of edit of last post !!! 😞

Maybe so, but can’t play DD online like that. There is no way to search for like minded people. It’s competitive mode and that’s it. Back in the day you could search for a game with any type of setting. They also had lobbies back then as well. It doesn’t matter I guess, I fit into a different crowd and it’s not the way the game is going it looks like.

If you want to argue that, then the zone shouldn’t be the size of a giant tennis racquet. Shouldn’t it be the actual size of the bat?

You can absolutely play the game like that in DD!! The only difference it won't be live.

There is a feature where you can play against anybody's team that has played an online game and is somwhere on leaderboard.

You can use your DD lineup against thiers, set parameter to whatever you like, and the thing about this mode is it tracks peoples tendencies. So if they swing at everything in real life that is how they will swing in game same goes for pitching.

Great way to practice against teams that are in the next division as well. I know it may not be ideal b/c it isn't live but it allows you to play people that are same ranking and it it based off your settings.

You can also try leagues, that is live gameplay and you can use DD lineups and if you have a group of likeminded people then you can all agree on the parameters of gameplay.

This i 100% agree with!! Definitely think strike zone is to big. I've been saying that for a while now. One of the problems i have with MP.

I get that, but it’s not the same as searching for a person. You really can’t optimize the game anyway to play different “styles”. The engine they built the game off is more geared for total user input than it is realism. Maybe I need to hang up the joysticks, get a pc, grab squad or arma.

Sorry you feel that way. But if your looking to play baseball in a more realistic way then simulation is the closest thing to realism your gonna get.

There is no way anybody that plays MP is gonna play the game realistically unfortunately. We are in a time where people will do whatever to win with no set of morales. There might be a few out there but unfortunately if there is a way to cheat people will use it even if it is for a fake card.

It's all about putting on social media and bragging. Fun is not first priority in the majority of gaming anymore.

I thought ten years ago by now the games would be so realistic. It’s almost like they are going more towards “arcade style” with all sports games. Actually, you can’t even get a mil-sim shooter on console no more.

I get what you saying, I just think it’s weird to bat .400 with a player that hits .250 in person. Not really important to get the better cards if you can perform with lesser ones. I’m too old I guess, I like games a little more grounded to reality.

There is a simulation game style for that.

Well i agree i also thought by now sports game would be different. But i am optimistic due to the fact next gen just came out. So i will hold off on judging future games b/c thier is alot of potential even for a mil sim shooter.

Maybe. I heard all the socom rumors for ps5 and was disappointed when it wasn’t announced. Socom confrontation was the last good shooter on console in my opinion.

@sean_87__PSN the only real way to do what you are looking for is to play in a league. Play with like minded people and you can set so many things that you can have ot the way you want it to be. You can use dd with roster rules or real teams. At least last year you could, not 100% sure about this year but I would assume that you could
