Because user input should matter more then what happens in baseball because that’s what video games are.
User input is a lot more important in real life and they still smoke it right at people. Why should a game be different?

I can’t even count the amount of times I had good squared good squared perfect perfect for 12 straight at bats — and now their pitcher is at 26 pitches. But I’m hitting dots and they are flailing hitting the back end of their bat 0-2 and check swinging everything off speed with 15 pitch at bats and they can’t square anything up. And now I’m at 75 pitches.
Sorry but that’s horrible gameplay... I’m not saying you don’t agree. I honestly don’t understand how anyone doesn’t agree

Okay so that I can agree with you with. If you're constantly hitting perfect perfects and the other person strikes out 20 times and flails constantly and wins because the two or three they hit go out then ya that I can understand. I just don't believe that all perfect perfect hits should be hits or that the person with the most perfects should get a guaranteed win. If both players play well and one has a few more perfect perfects that doesn't mean they should win but in the situation that you're explaining I can understand why you would be upset with the outcome.

I think people on both sides of the arguments can agree thet PP flyballs with power hitters should pretty much always be homeruns (unless it's at Polo grounds). The argument is more about perfect line drives and grounders.

I don’t constantly hit perfect perfects but it’ll be like good squared, good squared, good squared, perfect perfect, good squared, good squared. And they will all be outs...I find this to be the case on ranked seasons more then anything and yes you are facing better pitchers — but my game style is not to foul 100 pitches out of the zone off. I don’t know. Seems like 18,19, and 20
Have all been geared toward really bad players imo. From what we’ve seen of 21 it seems like they are abandoning that motto...but I guess time will tell.I still think foul tips need to be addressed

What if the pitcher perfectly nailed his input and it went exactly where it was supposed to go?
What if the defending player set up the field perfectly for the perfect-perfect liner to be caught, or the grounder to be hit right to the SS?
Whose perfection matters more?

It’s like the flyouts are preprogrammed to manipulate the outcome of a game. I have seen good good contacts resulting in pop outs. I’m not kidding you. I said before the current hitting engine needed to improve but after playing for weeks now I can tell you that the game needs a completely new hitting engine. The current hitting engine needs to be nuked from reality.

Power it was pretty much a guaranteed bombYankee Stadium sucks. I had 2 perfect perfect contacts with Seager not leaving the field. Do not choose this ballpark for online play.

If the worse hitting player out of the two of us just happens to get lucky with their input (perfect input, not the game spoonfeeding them) when there are bases loaded with Trout batting and they are down 3 runs to zero, and that’s the only time in the game they have perfect hitting input, that’s circumstantial. That happens.
Surely you’d be ok with that? It’s not as simple as saying better overall number of inputs should prevail. The nine innings are independent of each other. Nine good inputs all in one inning should probably beat 18 good inputs spread evenly* over 9 innings, even in a video game.
What you are saying about hits on terrible swings - that I agree with. And good inputs being constantly unrewarded, I also agree with to an extent (unless fielding placement is perfect). But baseball is a special video game because you don’t have to be the better overall player to be the victor.

The way you are describing it are not the games that annoy me. I don’t get annoyed if myself and my opponent both are putting good swings on the ball...if I just so happen to put a few good swings on the ball more...but he wins. It’s baseball. I am cool with that
Where I have a problem. (And this is really a bad issue in this game) is when I’m consistently putting good inputs on the ball. And my opponent is not ever putting any good inputs on the ball. And I start getting missed perfect meters down the middle for him to swing at...late weak hits four feet out of the zone for hits and runs...it’s like that’s stealing the victory from the better player...and it happens SO MUCH In the last few years it’s actually mind boggling. (More so on allstar and below really)
