i am not one of the ones that makes this complaint routinely, but the biggest pitching complaint is that change ups and curve balls tend of float up from the targeted area (despite good user input) and are routinely crushed, making them pretty useless. Also not getting strikes called on the black

hitting complaints are all over the board, I won't even try to sum all the ones I have seen on here.

This. On top of the floaters a perfect pitch release should result in that pitch going exactly where you wanted it to. I can't count how many times I have placed a pitch in the strike zone and had a good release only to travel a foot or two out and bean a batter. I agree a good release should be penalized a small amount but not drift a few feet and bean a batter. That is for poor releases.

    0.0000003 WHIP.

I've given up more than one hit/walk in 3,333,333 innings pitched with Cole. I say the game is accurate.

Agreed. Even bad pitchers can hit a spot when their mechanics line up in real life. There's two things they can do to fix this. 1. Make the yellow line harder or easier to hit based on a pitchers control. The better the pitcher, there bigger there yellow line. Maybe make a perfect release option like they did with throws home. 2. make a pitchers "PCI", like a circle that indicates where the ball could go upon release with each pitch having a different sized circle based on how good that pitcher is wity that pitch. It's really baffling how they haven't figured this out yet. It's not that hard to come up with something that takes into account user input AND player attributes. But they have zero reason to change. No competition in town.

Hitting broken - Very early/late foul tips, very early/late bloops, perfect foul balls, Early seemingly more rewarding than "Good"
Pitching broken - good input on pitch, ball ends up right down the middle of the plate

    Very accurate description.

When you lose hitting and pitching is broken

    When you win.....crickets

I have the same complaints abt the game win or loss and so does everyone else I talk to

I don’t enjoy how there is less animations and overall feel of baseball. Mlb 17 had problems too, but I went back and played it and jeez it plays miles better than 20. Some cheesy things here and there but the basics are just overall better.

I wouldn’t say it’s broken, but there are games where your placement and timings aren’t being rewarded and your losing because of it... I play with high speed internet on a gaming monitor with 1ms response timing and some games I play no matter how early I swing it just won’t let me time a fast ball, I’m not sure why.

This is something that absolutely needs to be fixed for 21. The inconsistency across how the game plays in ranked needs to change. A competitive sports game shouldn’t change timing windows or speeds, etc

    I 💯 % agree.

I’ve had many games where I am early on fastballs, yanking them foul (even with “perfect” swings) repeatedly, only to have “late” on one in a pivotal spot and have it go through my bat.

Connection quality seems to have such an impact on how things go online. Consistency in the rest of gameplay would help a lot.

I shouldn’t be terrified of throwing any other pitch besides a sinker or cutter. Changeups and curveballs are useless in this game.
“Just early” on an inside pitch shouldn’t mean I pull it 50 feet foul.
And finally a perfect/perfect on a ball middle away shouldn’t be a routine rolled over ground ball for a double play

So...you adjust. you've had almost a year now. If they end up higher than you want, start them lower. I'm not great at the game, I can't hit worth a darn, but my ERA is fantastic. No pitcher SP or RP has an ERA above 2. While I question the universal profile stats accuracy, it says my ERA is .64 through 1500 games.

That's mostly on all-star, with some occasional games in the 700's.

    So again, adjust.

So playing almost 700 event games, against a ton of WS banner guys doesn't count either?

Playing my friends who are always WS players in leagues doesn't count either?

Adjust if you hang pitches. Easy.

Those don’t count in your universal profile ERA, I mean considering the players that play events you can’t really take anything from it, also bad players make World Series 🤷🏽‍♂️ Again usually people that are out here toting their great ERA are playing bad hitters, what do you think you have figured out that the best players in the world don’t have figured out?

This^ I played a ranked game a couple weeks ago against a guy with multiple 12-0 runs on BR and I thought I had pitched the best game of the year location wise. I still gave up 14 runs. Doesn’t matter how well you pitch when playing a good player

Also, I think the point of the thread is that pitches hang or drift to the middle regardless of input sometimes.

It’s pretty universally accepted. Must be nice to have ERA under 2 with every pitcher, but, adjusting or not, most of us find another experience with pitching in this game.

It is factual, there is no adjusting when you have a pitch with perfect input that hangs over the plate

I mean that is true but just because people complain about the hitting and pitching when they lose doesn't change the fact that the pitching and hitting in the game is still pretty bad. Plus of course most people don't complain when they win. They won so why would they complain about it? Doesn't change the fact that the hitting and pitching is still bad.

Bulls h i t!!! I hit just fine and pitch just fine. And no rng doesn’t decide games either. Been playing longer than you and seen the years where the pitching has been bad (18) and also seen years where the hitting has been bad (19). So sick of reading this horse [censored]. If you suck you suck pitching isn’t going to bail you out like it has in previous years. And while there are some issue with hitting this year it’s not a big separator. Just because you suck at it doesn’t mean everyone else sucks at it. I hit for an average over .300 and pitch to 3.3 ERA.
