Having as much fun as possible with people who share common interests is a great reason to care and feel invested

Many of us either love the game of baseball or have played baseball extensively irl so it's hard not to come in here when you turn the PS4 on at night...sort of a natural marriage to play this game for our demographic regardless of how broken and stupid this game is.

Lack of anything better to do in the world right now is probably it.
With the lack of fun events I've switched to almost exclusively casual play. My hope was that in casual online I'd face less of the ridiculous tactics we commonly see complaints about. Unfortunately that has not been the case. But at least with casual there's no ranking to lose or gain, so I have no issues just quitting out if my opponent is being a douchebag.

Now that my kid has stopped playing, this is the closest I get to hanging around the ballpark nerding out with a scorebook.
I’m looking forward to our local short season A team getting the bump up to high A this year. Here’s to being able to go to the ballpark again sometime soon!

Love baseball!!! And ya know what, this game has many flaws..and as crazy as it may sound, its still prob the best sports game out there....can't speak for fifa.. never played it.

I’m trying to collect as many cards as possible. Also the challenge of making WS every season is fun.
That fun you speak of has pretty just devolved into hopelesness for me as no matter what I do, how I try to improve, I can't get there.

I used to hang around a lot more, but the complete lack of SDS presence has left this place dry of information.
Like our country, this board is divided between Shitpit and MLB stadiums.
It's just not like it once was. Hopefully we'll get real news soon and revitalize this place.

I’ve deleted the game I just like the people in the community

I'm a masochist.

The ladies
These are all fantastic answers and restored my faith in the community, but this answer wins.

I've never really had to many gripes about the game other than a few things like the online stuff such as problems locating pitches, too many quitters, events are worthless to me, etc.
It's my,love for the game that keeps me buying every year.
No game is perfect and my mindset is that, so I have very little heartache when this minor imperfections pop up. Could they be fixed, of course, but it is what it is.
I just wish I could hit better and I think that is the biggest issue. Either your really good or not at all and to me their needs to be a middle ground somewhere.
Anyway, I'll continue to buy because I love baseball. -
