Robb Nen no outlier?

Ask Jim Thome about the 102mph he whiffed on in the 1997 World Series...
If my memory serves me correctly, I think he was mostly topping out around 99 back in the day. SDS wouldn’t add the outlier for hitting 101 once or twice during the season, would they?
-
Either way, going from the 92 to the 95, you lose stats that would reduce the PCI, but gain control of your pitches more better... Terrible card.

If a guy like Nen verifiably hit 102mph, what's the harm in giving him outlier so he's viable similar to a Walter Johnson ️

I wish they would give it to him. I've always enjoyed a robb nen in my bullpen.

He’s really not much different than the 92, just better control.
-
If they’re gonna give cy young a 97 mph fastball and Walter Johnson outlier, then the majority of players who’ve played since the 90s should have it by SDS logic
-
His sig last year was noticeably better than his 92 with the improved command. I’m excited to try it out

Why not? They give sinkers to guys who have never thrown one.
Also, guys arguing about Walter Johnson baffles me. I get that he was technically not recorded as throwing that fast, but the methods used to measure speed back then were wildly unreliable. Big Train is still regarded as one of the hardest throwers of all time, and especially for his era.

This. Also, SDS wants it to feel like how it would have felt facing those guys. Walter and Young and Lefty were all the hardest throwers of their time. For Walter especially I think it can be safely assumed that he was throwing somewhere around 95, considering Feller was clocked 20 years later throwing 100.

Without outlier, I see no point in trying to get this card.

I remember watching the fastball documentary and I thought I remember it saying Walter Johnson threw about 82

That was in 1917 using a different method and clocking the speed at home plate. When they applied the method used to clock Aroldis Chapman's 105.1mph fastball the results ended up being the following:
- Nolan Ryan 108.5mph
- Bob Fellar 107.6mph
- Aroldis Chapman 105.1mph
- Walter Johnson 93.8mph
A side note on Walter Johnson the physics professor who made the calculations stated it certainly plausible Johnson threw harder than that based on his performance and anecdotal evidence. Walter by 1917 had already pitched for 10 years accumating over 3,100 innings.
The main point of my post is there isn't a reason IMO why Nen doesn't have outlier. He's verified hitting 102mph, Rob Dibble's fastest recorded pitch was from 1992 and was only 101mph.

I have a hard time believing someone pre 1970 threw harder than the guy who looks like one of the giant mannequins you see when you go to dicks.
But I definitely agree that if they’re going to give it to those guys, give to to the ones who verifiably hit 100 -
