Does your faulty controller make your Outfielders Dive at times ?

My faulty controller does that and more! I'm 100% sure it's the ONLY reason I can't reach the higher levels in RS and can't go 12-0 in BR.

Remember: "A good carpenter always blames his tools". Or something like that.

Lol. I think it's a good carpenter never blames his tools. Has this controller been thrown/dropped? Is it really old?

Oddly enough, this controller is 3 months old to replace a controller that may or may not have been thrown, stepped on, driven over by my car, etc.

I had a controller that did the same thing. It wouldn't register an input in the top of the strike zone(the left stick). I don't think there is any way to fix it.

Lol I don’t dare use my Faulty controller in Rank only Event games .

I rotate between two controllers. Controller "A" is fine. Controller "B" I've noticed is glitchy. The PCI will get "jittery" even when I'm not touching the control stick. My buttons seem to have laggy input.

Have you guys ever had a "bad" controller, or is this in my head?

I have one like that. It used to make the pci jitter. Now it also makes it where I dont know where I am pitching it too. I dont use it, but sometimes I accidentally load up a game with it and change it out aft after the first pitch

If the left analog is jittery you might have some gunk/dirt or something that’s making do that. I’ve heard people blowing into the analog spot and it made it less jittery and some actually fixed it. Buttons could be the same thing too, never experienced that.

My red DS4 controller has a seizure in the left stick... It's a shame because all the buttons feel crisp and responsive but unfortunately someone with epilepsy could quite possibly stroke out when the PCI starts jerking.

If you play a significant amount each week, then you owe it to yourself to splurge a little and get a high-end controller.

I wavered for weeks on whether or not to get the Astro C40, as the price point is high. If I remember right, I paid $229 for mine.

The primary reason that I went ahead and bought it is that my hands are too big for the DualShock, which isn't a big deal for someone who plays infrequently. However, I play multiple hours per day and using a regular DualShock leads to aches and pains in my hands, particularly in my knuckles and the ligament/muscle combination in my thumbs, due to having to curl my hands too much to use all of the buttons, etc. The Astro C40 was a game-changer (forgive the pun) for me. It's larger than a DualShock, it's very sturdy, made of very high quality materials, and is customizable in terms of being able to reassign buttons as well as changing the locations of the thumbsticks and D-pad. I've been using it now for months and I won't go back to anything of lesser quality.

One of the reasons that I'm not fussed about not having a PS5 yet is that Astro Gaming hasn't had time to create custom controllers for the PS5. When I do eventually get a PS5, I'll try the standard DualSense, but if it's the same size as the DualShock then I'll be looking for a suitable 3rd-party, approved, replacement.

Edit: I don't work for Astro Gaming, I just love their peripherals. Top quality stuff.

It might be because of stick drift. It's best to get a brand new controller in that case.

    Stick drift... aka Peyronie's disease.

Since you're my son, you should really have a good controller. I'll put one in your stocking this Christmas.

This is slightly off topic, but The Show has always been a controller killer for me. The x button tends to get mushy because I press too hard when I swing, and I’ve broke a few of the triggers too. I’m not sure why because I don’t hit those particularly hard in this game. Yesterday I pressed R2 to check pitch locations (it was offline in the Babe Ruth games so I wasn’t wasting anyone’s time) and I heard something snap inside. Now that trigger only works when I hold it down at certain angles.

Only one controller is completely broken, but I have three that are messed up in one way or another. One of them I had to open and and remove the rumble device from because it snapped off and was rattling around inside. I love the DualShock 4, but I feel like the build quality could have been better. I sincerely hope the DualSense holds up better over time.

I have 3 newer controllers that do that, but my old ps4 controller doesn’t have the jitters at all so I’m able to bat.

Every PS4 controller I’ve had had had to be replaced within a year, always some button issue...what you described had been most common, likely a drift in the analog button. I tried to fix one by following some yt videos but had no luck. Just replace them at this point.

I gently 4seam fastball my controller through the wall a couple day's ago. Now, this lovely little piece of innacuracy can rest in pieces between those wall's. Was a funny game ... My wife was lookin at me like : you're 34, grow up .... Then I sinkerball my wife in the wall ... Ok last part was not "exactly" true but she bought me a New one so now I can't even lose no more with any excuse .... Sucks !

Yes. I have a controller I can’t use with this game for the same reasons you mention.

One thing that could help your controller is to turn your ps4 off and push the reset button in on the controller for 10 seconds and then plug it into your ps4 and turn it back on. Also in the system settings, go to controllers and see how they’re communicating with the ps4. It’ll either be Bluetooth or with the cord, choose the cord over Bluetooth for pairing it.
