Most Unhittable Pitch?
-
I struggle against Kenley’s cutter. Sad to say even against the CPU. I pop out left and right. Still have nightmares from his extreme moment last year.
For me as a pitcher, when I can tunnel Sale’s fastball and slider properly (rare because I suck), I get a lot of Ks. Love it when the slider inside to a rightly looks like a high fastball and the opponent is so far out in front they practically spin all the way around.

A 3 pitch Dibble sequence, 1 of the 3 will have you flailing and it's embarrassing.
-
Mariano Rivera's sinker. It's a good one. The fact that no major league pitching coach or player could show him how to throw an effective one.
Does a little training with Sds...boom throws sinker. Imagine if Sds could have got to him while he was still playing.

I know this is a strange choice but for me it is Walker Buehler’s cutter and it isn’t close
I faced it on legend the other day and you’re right it’s disgusting. But I’m not sure how much of that was just it being on legend
-
To me it is still the knuckleball. Well, maybe not this year since they got nerfed. But man it was such a pain loading into a game while staring at diamond Phil Niekro or R.A. Dickey on your opponent's lineup.

High and in sinkers.....

Any fastball 97 or above

On legend some guy was dotting me with that cutter on the lower right hand side corner just out of the zone against Righties, while tunneling it with the 4seam (for strikes) and it was hell.

It’s tough on AS and HOF as well. It just moves so much

This is awesome! Yeah SDS has some great coaching talent!

Yeah. Still the high and tight sinker. Next year they will be nerfed though and something else will be the new meta. My money is on change ups.

You say that but sinkers have been the meta pitch in 17, 19, and 20 and nothing has changed. At least in 18 it was splitters

It is really hard to say where we are moving to a new gen. I am hoping sinkers get nerfed though.

This is true, sinkers have always been the meta and I think they will remain to be the meta. Even if they nerf the break for sinkers high in the zone, a sinker that works as intended is still a fantastic pitch to induce weak groundballs as was the case in 17. If you chased it below the zone, you couldn't pull that out of the park. You would ground out like you're supposed to for chasing a pitcher's pitch.

Agree 100%. While sinkers high in the zone this year are more broken then ever before, they have always been the best pitch in the game. Hell arguably the best pitcher in 17 was (checks notes) Orel Hershiser. Makes sense
-
Sinkers are more juiced this year than they've ever been, and it makes for a lazy meta. They really slowed down cutters this year too.
94mph sinker = 100mph fastball timing
94mph cutter = 90mph fastball timingSinkers need a nerf imo

bauer’s mid 80s cutter is ruining my life

Orel’s sinker
I sure as [censored] can’t hit it, but no one else has a problem against me.

Everything Chapman throws. Good lord do I still hate seeing him come out of the pen. I don't have a hard time with 102 from DeGrom or Crochet, but something above Chapman's delivery just obliterates my ability to hit. I'm so over-hyped for his fastball I flail at pretty much everything else.
