comparitively strong. If I could lift 25 pounds but someone else my age could only lift 15, I would look strong. Same situation here. Sure they do more than the others, but that doesn't mean they do enough.

I was suspicious of Cano since he came up with the Yankees. He was exactly the kind of guy that is too prideful to do whats best for the team if it wasnt best for him. I never liked him, even pre PED busts and was super happy when the Yankees traded him.
I just got a feeling he was a selfish guy.
Mets fans must be in heaven. They are saving 24 million and opening up 2nd base which will allow McNeil to go back to his natural position. It actually kind of starts a domino effect of players able to slot in at more natural positions. Its actually the best thing that could have happened for the Mets.

He popped for winstrol, one of the oldest, and easiest to detect anabolics there is. He got popped in the past for Lasix which is a diuretic used to mask the excretion of some steroids, such as injectible water based winstrol.. which is most likely what he was using, it has a very short half life and clears the system fast but with the new testing methods very easy to detect for very long periods of time.
These substances are never 0 in the body, they just keep getting smaller at a predictable rate... For example, assume a few years ago we could detect things the size of a basketball... Today we can detect things the size of a grain of sand..

I just wish I could gamble away $24 million, not really caring either way if I got caught and lost it all. What an idiot, he had guaranteed money. Could have went out, hit .110 and completely sucked and still got 24 million but nah, I'm cool to just to just give that up. HOF chances gone, respect in the game gone, everything you've accomplished questioned. And the Mets still owe him what, another 48 million or so? Out of touch with real life lol

Well, the only thing I can figure is that he was getting away with it for a while. MLB doesn't use USADA and I don't think they are open about their testing protocols. When it's done privately like MLB does, and not 3rd party like, say, the UFC does, this leaves the door open to shennanigans.
For example they may know, or have a general idea of when they're going to be tested and can flush things out of their body... In this case I figure they implemented new machines or new procedures and can detect way lower levels of some of these things than before.... USADA is so good they can detect traces of the plastic in the bag that holds blood for those athletes that blood dope their own blood... But MLB and whatever testing they use may very well use older equipment or different protocols.
Also tainted supps are a thing, not saying this happened here, but with the new developments in testing we can detect smaller amounts of substances that would never possibly have been effective and are likely contaminants.

I agree either Cano was getting away with it and got careless, or the testing got better. But if I’m Cano, and I already got popped once, and I had retirement money on the line... I think I would make extra sure whatever I was doing was untraceable. It’s not like he couldn’t afford it.
Sure, could be a false positive... but unless he puts out a statement saying it’s a mistake, that’s doubtful. I’m guessing with that much money on the line, and having to stare down the the MLBPA reps demanding the burden of proof, you don’t announce those kind of things if you’re not already 100% sure (or if there isn’t some admission of guilt).
I know it must hurt to not be as good as you used to be, but if there’s something guys like Palmeiro and McGwire showed, it’s that you can still be a beloved figure with great career numbers and still destroy your legacy if you’re not careful.
