99 Machado is the best card in the game

SDS made him glitchy because he’s a padre
He is a MVP candidate who can hit both lefty and righty, and he was glitchy since he was an orioles.
-
Mookie is really good too. He has first pitch hitter, and dead red. Most people throw first pitch fastball. He hits a bunch of lead off dingers

Thats good to hear. As a Padre fan I think I'm just gonna buy the card for what its going for. I got some stubs saved up and don't want to grind through the TA to get him. I dont know if his price will go up or down over the next few days so I'm thinking of just buying him now.
The grind isn’t bad. Showdown is repeatable and takes only about 15-30 mins to complete. It’s very easy. I’ve done it about 10 times. Haven’t even been close to failing.

Didn't even really need the stubs. So think I'll buy him back and just take the stubs hit. Chalk it up to a lesson.
Can't you just get him again via TA4 Conquest and save yourself stubs?

Aldaberto Mondesei would like a word

Mondesei is great on All Star but once you get higher in RS to the HOF difficulty he’s an automatic strikeout unless you’re bunting with him. His vision is just awful. I don’t fear him at all when he comes up. But as always if YOU hit great with him then that’s all that matters.

I do indeed bunt. I just love the power add-on vs lefties. Vs righties he bloops for days and because of his power vs lefties the OF plays deep allowing for more shallow hits. His speed more often forces the 2b in and bunt defense which only makes that gap even larger for more bloopers. He just automatically counters everything imo

Ha, dude, I did the same thing for Soto....thought I could sell then put in a lower buy order and make some stubs with the volatile market, but his price just spiked. I bought him back within 30 minutes with a little loss, but swing where he settled I’m a little relieved.
I happened to reach L90 prestige and get degrom, so no big loss at the end of the day.

Mookie has been clutch for me, just wish his splits were better. I'm having trouble finding spots in the lineup for all of these guys.

Best in the game? Maybe if you don't count Trout, Junior, Soto, Mantle, Babe and Mays.
-
IDK guys, Griffey Jr. has replaced Trout as my starting CF and it hasn't even been close. He's amazing.
EDIT - I do love that Machado card. He's mashing already for me, but Griffey "feels" better to me. Just preference, but I think with his swing and defense he's the best in the game. haven't tried Mays though.

I just assumed that once you get a card through the TA rewards path then that's it, you can't get it again unless you buy it. I am completing the Padres conquest now, but only to ge the last 30 TA points I need to collect the rewards after the Finest Machado. From memory, you get the Finest cards at 50 points, but then there are still a further 60 points to go in TA4 - you can a few pretty lovley choice packs.

IMO he’s better than all of them except arguably Mantle...Just my opinion.

If only they could’ve made it count towards any stage in TA. At this point in the game why not. It’s an incentive for guys to keep playing and grind out certain stages for teams. Only team I have up to stage 4 is the Cubs
-
I've done plenty of the TA4 showdowns where I've had both Machado and Soto in my line up. There's no doubt that Soto is superior. The ball just jumps off his bat like no other. That said, Soto is leftie and there are no lefties in the TA4 showdown. Maybe Machado could be the best against lefties, but he is not better than Soto against righties.

You’re just talking about hitting though...I’m saying he is the best all around player. Soto is a liability in the field, That’s why I wouldn’t put him in this conversation.
