Not sure, but I'd say someone knew it was coming and couldn't do anything about it.

This should be mandatory viewing for all the “spam breaking balls in the dirt” defenders. Sure, he throws 24 curveballs in a row, but I don’t think he bounced a single one, and many of those pitches are in the zone.

I don't want to see any Astros flashbacks for MLB 20. These disgracefull cheaters don't deserve them. If I see one, it gets beaned automatically.

This is death penalty worthy, but trading for a wife beater and bragging about it, no biggy.

People are weird. Baseball probably has seen the most cheating in NA sports history and continues to do so. Must be nice living your youth in the "triggered era".

Death penalty worthy? I love when people exaggerate things. I simply requested no flashbacks of these cheaters, not the death penalty.
And you're right, people are weird, especially when they try to defend cheaters.

What if we are not defending the fact that they cheated because it is very disappointing and embarrassing. Are we still allowed to support our team though as baseball fans?

The Yankees didn't use apple watches. They used video to find out whether the previous pitch was a ball or a strike. Larry Rothschild used the bullpen phone to call the replay room after the pitch. They didn't relay signs before the pitch was thrown. Totally different

As a baseball fan you should denounce your 2017 WS title as well as altuves mvp award. Doing so would gain back way more respect from other fans. If their organization does the same it would really speed up the healing process from this debacle. Other fans are more upset that they cheated and the punishment was way too light in other fans eyes. Now if the punishment fit the crime (taking away the trophy and rings, and the mvp award.) Then more fans would agree that they were punished more on par with what the crime calls for and that they’ve then at least not gotten just a slap on the wrist.

Ok so you just ignored my point in all. What does the trophy have to do with me as a fan? I get nothing out of them winning the 17 World Series except I watched my team win a World Series. And I said that I was disappointed and embarrassed about that. It is literally not MY title so I have nothing to denounce. And on another note, it’s not the Astros players fault that they got no punishment, people should take that up with the commissioner. So again, am I not supposed to support my team of over 20 years? Would you? And that last question is rhetorical cause any true fan would support their team no matter what. Whoever says different is just a straight up liar.

I wonder if that’s why he needed Tommy John. Not really good to spam the same pitch over and over again. Unless you’re playing MLBTS! Lol

ok, then go back and wipe everything in baseball having to do with cheating. Good luck with that. Like it or not, cheating is embedded deep in the game's history. Not saying what we did is correct. It was awful and as a lifelong fan I am disgraced by it.

However, everyone coming out and acting holier than thou has us Astros fans pissed. "Take away the trophy", ok then take away the Giants' 1951 pennant, take away Aaron's HR record since it was done with greenies... hell stop idolising The Babe who happened to cork his bats.

Thank you for becoming the example of how Astros fans are. This right here. First they “say” they don’t agree with it. Then they minimize the cheating by comparing it to other offenses. Then they defend it. This post right here is how every Astro fan I’ve interacted with has been. That team is a disgrace to the game.

This is ridiculous. I just stated I am disgraced by it. What I'm saying is that if you want stuff to be taken away or erased then it should be done for everything that happened throughout history. It's a lot you know. Stop trying to cover the Sun with your finger, it ain't happening.

As SMASHEDonEM said earlier... what the hell do you want us fans to do? tired of idiots trolling our social media, etc, just to "stick it to them". It wasn't my decision to cheat you know. As disappointed that I am, I'll still slowly but surely go back eventually and cheer for my team.

Let's be real Mike Scott cheated probably as much as the astros from 17 did using a razor blade on the ball is awful. Granted he is also a great regional manager

Having watched Scott throw the no hitter back in the day, you are still making trash up.Get a life. The supposed cheating was in 17 and the beginning of 18. Best world series ever last year and incredible record winning on the road.

I hate the Astros. Before the trash cans. But many teams steal signs, and if they aren’t good at it, they wish they were. This is a silly controversy, and a ton of hypocrisy on display. Reminds me of Palmiero righteously declaring that he never did roíds in front of congress.
