He's a borderline hall of famer who will probably get in based on being one of pitchers favorite targets to throw to and because he's played for one team his whole career. He's also historically very clutch and won multiple WS. I think you'll see more and more catchers go in as analytics help defensive value be recognized.

Imagine thinking Yadier Molina is a hall of famer, or better yet better than Posey
Grizzly Adams did have a beard

Yadi has a lot of intangibles that are hard to quantify with stats.
Fangraphs did a great article on how much having Molina behind the plate has impacted the Cardinals, It's def a good read. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/instagraphs/yadier-molinas-career-in-four-graphs/

I'm a Cubs fan and even I'll say he's 1st ballot. This post is a pretty poor one if I'm being honest.

Imagine thinking a guy with 1 gold glove is better than a guy with 9 gold gloves and 4 platinum gloves at a defensove position.

Imagine...
...being such an insufferable [censored] that you type out each letter of this post and then proudly send it out into the world as if the masses will want to read it as some form of self-flagellating penance.

Molina's got the same Career WAR as Jim Sundberg and less WAR than Posada or Kendall, none of which are in Cooperstown.
Molina's a first ballot entry into the Hall of Very Good.
-
Yadi's a HOF'er, no doubt

The catcher position, more than any other, has a lot of things that aren't measured by a stat like WAR. It's not the end all be all stat for getting in the Hall.
(And yes I am biased, but I provided stats on why he is a hall of famer, that fangraphs article shows how valuable he has been)

Man. This is a tough one for me. Yadier Molina is hands down my favorite player. My humble opinion, i think he is a HOF'r.
BUT, i don't know that he will make it. I think the stat nerds will glance at his offensive numbers and probably pass. But i think if you really dissect him as a player and see overall what he does for the team, and the pitching staff, and defensively....then he should be in. He has a lot of intangibles that are taken for granted in today's game that don't show up on paper. His gold gloves, platinum gloves, etc. are great accolades don't get me wrong...but I'm not sure it will be enough.

YADI IS NO DOUBT A HALL OF FAMER. ALL-STAR, GOLD GLOVE, 2 WS RINGS, AND NOW WITH 2000 HITS THERE IS NO WAY HE CAN"T MAKE THE HALL OF FAME
