Perfect Game - Opponent Quit
-
I'll begin by saying that I'm not a very good player. I'm currently sitting in the 600s and my RS record is something like 55-50. I usually pitch fairly well but hit very poorly. All that to say that I'm in no way a top player and what I'm about to say doesn't happen to me very often. I was playing a game last night and pitching a perfecto with Sixto Sanchez heading into the 9th inning winning 2-0. It was my first try with him as SP and I've never been anywhere close to a perfecto with anybody before. The 9th inning starts and the opponent immediately quits. I realize that I get the win but I just wish I had the chance to complete the perfecto as it would have easily been the highlight of my MLB The Show 20 season. Not much I can do about it now (I grabbed a screenshot for posterity) but just wanted to vent a bit. Sixto Sanchez of all people?! Anyway, thanks for listening.

I have pitched a perfect game against the computer I think a few times. No hitters happen in conquest all the time. Online that is an accomplishment because you will have a player bunt against the shift or something to break it up.

It depends on your opponent. A perfect game with 10-12 strikeouts is pretty impressive, but I see posts on reddit quite often of people throwing 23 strikeout perfect games online with Giolito or someone like that, and its clear they are playing someones 5 year old kid

Lmao, yeah I see those all the time too

I hear you.
Boneman,
He tried to bunt twice I think in the 7th and I barely made the out.Dragon,
It wasn't one of those, it was 11pm (so most likely not a little kid up that late on a school night) and it was a close game. I think I only had 5-6 strikeouts so nothing outrageous. Tons of ground balls, a few DPs, and a few close call deep fly to OF. Other guys was pitching well too since I only scored 2 runs. -

If your opponent grounded into a double play, then you couldn’t have thrown a perfect game, right? A runner would have had to reach first via a walk or an error. Either way that’s not a perfect game. Sounds like you threw a no-hitter. Am I missing something?
-
Oops, you are correct. I played a few games last night and remembered turning a double play but it might have been the game before. Is there an easy way to review the game log for that specific game after the fact? Not that it mattered now but I'm curious now.
-
I don’t know. I have seen people say that they looked up people’s past games but I don’t know how they did it.
I believe you had a perfect game going. But that wasn’t the game your opponent hit into a DP.
-
Oh I found the game log. Looking at the game log it was a perfecto, 24 up and 24 down without anybody reaching first base.

I’m not going to read all that but I believe you, bro. It’s too bad your opponent denied you the opportunity to finish it. Sore losers are a stain on the online gaming experience.

That sucks man! I feel your pain
I did manage to have an 11 inning perfect game with Shallow Hal earlier in the year (16 or 17 k’s) and recently a no hitter with Orel (6 walks and 8 k’s). The recent no hitter I thought the guy was going to quit in the 9th because of all the R2’s and bunt dancing. Funny enough he messaged me after the game saying good game and great battle. It was a fun turn of events!
Good luck getting your no-no!
