Check swings

I understand people saying take check swings out of game but it is part of the gm. They took out wind which is part of the gm and they took out balks which is part of the gm.
Really isn't a perfect answer for check swings. I do hate when people check swing every pitch cause they're only looking for fastballs, totally horrible gm flaw. IMO -

They should just be removed completely. You tap the button, you swing. You don't tap the button, you don't swing. Easy peasy.
I used to be against this, but I think I've come around on just getting rid of it.
Played against someone who was 165-40, anytime it was offspeed he check swung. He was able to sit fastball all game and won because he got check swings everytime I threw the offspeed. (And because the game will hang secondary pitches a ton if you don't throw the primary pitch, I was screwed)
The guy has great PCI placement, and he can hit the fastball, but he would not be 165-40 if the game did not allow him to check swing and he wouldn't be able to only sit fastball
Throw strikes with the off speed stuff till he stops checking. Then hit him with the fastball/sinker. I'm guessing you weren't throwing strikes with your off speed stuff.
Never should I be forced to throw strikes if my opponent shows tendencies to swing at balls more often than not. That's the whole purpose of this game from a pitcher's perspective. The mechanic is broken, end of story.
Is he swinging at balls or check swinging at balls? If he's check swinging and not swinging at your balls, then yes, yes you are forced to throw strikes or else it's going to get ugly.
I think you missed the whole point of this thread by asking me this. I suggest you read things back from the start.

It's too late in the season to take out now.
It may break other things.
It's part of baseball, so I believe it stays. -

In my last two games my opponents have combined for 48 checkswings, and 44 of them being balls. Some of these are completely ridiculous on how they aren’t strikes. So SDS let’s fix this where guys with 125 discipline can barely get a check swing but guys with low discipline can just check away. By the way a 91% percent check swing rate is astronomic
I'm glad you made a post about it. I've mentioned this before. I had a guy check swing almost 40 times in a game. I think he got all but 4-5 calls. This has ruined higher ranked games for me. Top players know how to check swing because they play/practice it 4+ hrs per day.
I do not experience this. I check swing a lot and I’d say 1/3 get called for strikes if not more.

I just gave up 8 runs in two innings to a person who started to check swing on offspeed pitches late in the game and was never called for a strike.
He only got two base hits and 1 run in the first 7 innings, after the 8th inning he had about 13 hits and 8 runs. I was forced by the game to throw fastballs and sinkers and hope he was late or early.
P.D: I was up 9-1 and had to win it bottom of the ninth. It’s so frustrating.

How do I check those stats?

Same here... And when it comes to an opponent, some are just better at checking than others. Played plenty who couldn't check a swing if their life depended on it and plenty who were really good at it. It is what it is.

Dude this is so false. I won't even use myself as an example, but go watch McGunski or Rebel and even they complain about the fact that one game they get every call going their way and the next game everything is against them. I could've used any top player in this example, literally everyone is saying the same thing. There is zero correlation between check swings and skill. It is what it is.

Go into batter analysis after the game. Put yours and your opponents stats to all batters. Then go to the bottom and scroll through the stats

Hey man, let's just agree to disagree on this. And with all due respect, I couldn't give a F*** what McGunski, Rebel or any other one of those guys has to say. I don't watch them, don't care for them, and don't base my experience off of what anyone else says.

Fair enough. It's not just them though, like I said before. Your opinion is in the very large minority, which I assume is because the faulty mechanic often works in your favor. But yeah let's agree to disagree, that's probably best.

They're not my superhero streamers, I just refer to them because A) most people know who they are and B) they play this game 24/7 and have been for years, so their experiences surely carry a bit more weight than some random Joe on this forum. It's all good though, I'm not looking for any beef with you. Your opinion is yours and my opinion is mine, you can read back this thread to get a general idea of how check swings are perceived.

There has been several threads created about the issue this year. Even SDS has mentioned the issue on here months ago. They mentioned it was being worked on for next years game. In this thread alone, there has only been 2-3 people who disagree on the topic so far? That would be the minority...
-
I can actually get on board for eliminating it this year and bringing it back next year if fixed. I've been bailed out as many times as I've been screwed but the inconsistency is ridiculous. I've seen swings where my bat is a good foot past the plate called a non swing and ones where the bat didn't even leave my shoulder called a swing. I just want some consistency.
