If you havent heard Madden users are fed up. I guess the people on here were correct and its official. Madden doesnt hold a candle to the show
" EA has exclusive rights to NFL simulation games, meaning it has no console competition. It has faced accusations of becoming lazy because of its stranglehold on the market, which in the eyes of critics has led the company to stop making meaningful improvements, commit sloppy programming errors and fail to reinstate franchise mode features that existed more than a decade ago but have since been removed.
I don't think people will be coming back because of gaming issues on Madden. If your into football, you won't leave the game. Same goes for The Show players. Like myself, I haven't bought Madden in 4 years.
I left madden because of gaming issues.
Game hasn't been out long. The Show had a [censored] ton of issues when it came out. Still has a lot of those same issues too.
Madden has been out a long time. I started playing back in the early 90’s
The first madden was like 1985 I think

Well, for anyone that doesnt know, Madden 21 is now the lowest rated game by user score on Metacritic. That's quite a feat. EA already had FIFA in the bottom 5, but this is even beyond that. 0.3 user rating, LOL. Congrats EA on being the most hated gaming company around.

Was never into Madden... didn't have enough college football in it

Pretty sure playing MUT online is essentially a college football sim.'
Which is exactly why I cant stand MUT so for me Madden is like an offline season mode or my own "Be a GM" where I sim all games and just do front office stuff like trades and signings. MUT games are too short with an accelerated clock (i believe) for it to represent real football. One failed drive is pretty much game over.
Madden really needs a good career mode.
Also I find Madden's inability to properly program defensive AI infuriating. The last one I bought was a few years ago and defense was so bad I just stopped wasting my time with the franchise.
As for other games Ultimate teams:
NHL HUT is a bit better but the I find the gameplay lacking. Every year theres the same glitchy goals that ruin the experience. I typically stick to Be a Pro (needs to be better tbh) or mostly CHEL with friends.
I don't know if I've ever really played a regular game in NBA 2k. NBA 2k has an awesome career mode imo and that is my focus along with park/rec. I did some offline/solo ultimate team stuff last year but wasn't as enjoyable as career/park/rec with some friends.
-
I'm still playing both, but more Madden right now. It certainly has issues, but I have felt like there isn't anything to do in the show for weeks now.
-
Madden gameplay is based on the idea of supporting an independent market for e-books with "Money Plays" to exploit coding glitches and produce unrealistic blitzes. The days of acquiring the best players to fit the gameplay (playbook) you are looking to execute based on fundamental football based concepts has been gone for several years. I don't think we will see that era again until the return of the NCAA Football series.
Baseball does not seem to lend itself to the e-book mentality.
I used to love logging on to MUT and beating the e-book/meta kids with my old fashioned Run and Shoot offense. Those days are over. When NCAA Football comes back I want to be the first one breaking in Nick Rolovich's Washington State RNS playbook. Until then, no amount of unrealistic monetized 'Special Abilities' are going to lure me back.

It’s been like 10 years since anyone else made any sports game. Everyone complains. I like all of them and don’t feel like any have improved recently like they used too. Sad truth but years from now people will feel the same as people that have played them as long as people like me.
From 2000-2010 sports games took MASSIVE leaps forward.
From 2010-2020 and an entirely new console sports games almost didn’t change at all.
I guess that depends on perspective.
In terms of graphics and gameplay, sports games did not change much in the 2010's period no, but the way people played them online (Introduction of ultimate teams) did massively evolve during that period
Thats my point tho, “zone hitting” was in Ken Griffey on Nintendo 64. Game haven’t change much recently, the biggest change, are subtractions they make to try to push UT modes. Madden was the only current sports game with an online franchise until they brought it back for the show and they tied it to Diamond Dynasty and won’t let you do anything to the other rosters lol.

First year not getting Madden. Why got burned out in Feb on Madden 20, took a leap of faith in MLB TS 20 in March and while not perfect, I love playing it. SDS by far treats its customers 100% better, game content vs EAs is without a doubt the best and its not even close. Sticking with MLB TS 20 until MLB TS 21 comes out in 6 months.
couldnt have said that any better man

do nothing more than swing at a ball..and the AI decides whether it's a hit or not
Right he was definitely trying but failed. Best part was when he said "do nothing more than swing at a ball..and the AI decides whether it's a hit or not". Just like my QB when i want to lead my WR and he throws it behind him. Not AI controlled at all lmfao

I have madden and it plays exactly like last year IMO. Not sure why people hate it so much? There are bugs just like any game released these days but that seems par for the course. I only play franchise because MUT is way too confusing for me. I think the show is 100’s better than Madden, though. The graphics are phenomenal and the game play is pretty good, especially offline. That being said, I’ve played about 250 ranked games because I’m a glutton for punishment lol.

Madden has been stale for many years, i find it hilarious that people would just now realize it, unless they are under the age of 18.

The first video game featuring the iconic football personality came out in 1988, primarily for computers running MS-DOS. The second version of John Madden Football, which arrived in 1990, was the first for consoles, running on the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis platforms.

SDS treats the fans better than any sports gaming company. There’s no debate. Are they perfect? Far from it. Way better than EA and it’s no contest.
If only you treated your opponents with respect and play the game. You on the other hand, message people non stop while playing, because it isn’t going your way.

This is my first year in MLBTS, the last baseball game I played was 2003; I think MLB has come a LONG way and I love the game! Last game I played this much was Command and Conquer: Zero Hour,; Gotta givecredit where it’s due!

Only franchise players are ditching madden so early lol
-
I bought Madden thking it would be bad, and it's even worse than I thought.

“zone hitting” May have been introduced on the n64, but in reality what actual gameplay using a controller changes do you expect? I don’t think there is really any “new” way to hit, pitch, and field that hasn’t already been done and the show pretty much incorporates them all (zone, directional, analog) do you want something like 2k did back in the day with pitching where you have to do a full circle on the analog for a fastball, half circle for a changeup etc. and incorporate that into hitting? Honestly that was what drove me to the show instead of 2k, that pitching interface was more annoying than anything. I think zone hitting is the best possible hitting interface to use in a baseball game because it’s the only interface that requires two forms of skill to come together (pci placement and timing)

I actually think Madden plays better this year as opposed to last year. The passing game is actually relevant and the player you user can't cover like three routes at a time. I refuse to put any money into MUT though so I get pasted online matching up with day one god squads.
