Pause time during Ranked Season Matchups.

I can't be the only one to get their game forfeited just because of the time limit. You can be having the best start to your inning on offense as the away team and then you pause your game to do something but the opponent forfeits your game to make them the winner. To me this is beyond unfair. Your the winning team, your up by however many runs but all of that to just end up with a loss because of a Time Limit, is not right. I wish it never existed in online matches. This is not even about being triggered of a loss, this has happened numerous times and its unfair to end up with a loss when you were winning the whole game. That's why you see alot of triple loss teams you match up against i bet. Its because of the pause time limit that alot of players are getting losses. They need to either get rid of the clock or the forfeit button can be replaced with a friendly consensus.

I don't think I've ever lost a game this way, but then again, I don't have any kids.
-
So get a run and pause the game for an infinite amount of time and an automatic win? How does self inflicted freeze offs make any sense?
This is the only game I’ve ever played that gives you minutes as opposed to seconds before you are kicked for inactivity. It’s actually ridiculous people get 5-10 minutes a game to pause and waste time.
-
Because what online H2H needs is for your opponent to just pause indefinitely, especially when losing!
Doesn't matter if you are ahead, games not over till it's over, if you can't finish the game you take the forfeit.
-
I understand having to use the restroom or whatever but that shouldnt take more then a few minutes and every inning gives you more time. It should be rare that you should get forfeited.
-
If it takes you more then 5 minutes to get back to the game between innings you deserve the loss. You agreed to a game and are the one being rude and wasting your opponents time. I assume you like staring at a screen for x amount of time while your opponent pauses huh? I can see the rare unforeseeable instance were something comes up and you have to pause but not every inning.
-
I personally would like to see max total pause time of 60-90 seconds for an entire game. If you cant make substitutions and use the washroom to take a leak in that time frame then you should have to forfiet or not have entered the game in the first place.
I want to play. Not sit and stare at my screen waiting for you to finish pissing around. Your problems are not mine and vice versa.
-
The game needs less pause time, not more.
-
As a wise person once said, “Use the bathroom before we leave.”
If you are having family related issues, prioritize your family issues over your online record. Your personal issues are not my problem. The game is too generous with pause time as it is.

^This. I don't know long it takes you guys personally to chose a reliever or pinch hit a player but for me it should take all of 10 seconds. But hey that's just me and I don't like wasting peoples time.
-
If something comes up that’s going to take more than 3 minutes, ask for a friendly quit, if not accepted just quit, not the other persons fault that you had something come up.
-
I’m fine with whatever time the game starts with but hate that it adds each inning. I’ve had people pause for a ton of time early in the game and not have much left but the do it again later and they have a full 3 minutes left. Just start with three minutes total and let that run down.

This must be a joke, right? I'm sorry if this comes off as rude, but is every one of your opponents supposed to adjust their play time to your schedule? If you don't have time to play the game, don't play the game. If we matched up and you were away so long that the timer actually expired, I'm clicking that forfeit button and attempting to match up with someone who won't waste my time.
There was about a 2-3 month period over the summer where I knew I was too sick to make it through a 9 inning game without needing to pause for an extended period of time. Do you know what I did? I stuck to 3-inning game modes where I was more likely to make it through without needing to pause, or I played conquest/moments until I was sure I could actually get through a game without wasting my opponents time, or risking a forfeit.
If SDS actually instituted what you're suggesting, as soon as anyone went down by a run or two they would just pause the game indefinitely and wait for their opponent to quit out of frustration. This idea is so incredibly bad that I am convinced it must be a troll post.

This. I think the 5 minutes is way too long. Do you really need to pause after every batter to see where my pitches are going?
You commit to playing a game, you should know the game will take about 45 minutes for a RS game. If something comes up where you have to miss more than the required time, take the loss. Without the time limit there would be thousands doing nothing and waiting for the freeze off. People will do anything for a win. Everyone should know that by now with the bunt cheese, base running, etc.

Agree. This has to be a joke. How could anyone possibly think that there should be unlimited pause time in online competitive play? That’s absolutely ridiculous.
If you do not have the ability to sit and play/finish a game without letting the pause time run out than you shouldn’t have started the game in the first place and you deserve to take a loss. -
It should be cut in half the pause timer.
-
If they took this away ppl would pause when they go down a few runs and never come back until you quit. There needs to be a time limit.

i agree with this - especially when you have pissy kids crying halfway through an RS game all bitter holding the game time out of spite
-
Not to be a [censored] here but if they cut the pause time in half the more competitive people will complain and it will go back to normal. Also family takes precidence over video games everyday so you prob should be paying more attention to them than wondering why Good/Good = a lineout (not saying you do just a general example of complaints I've seen)

The more competitive guys are the ones who want less pause time
