Any of you burn your PS4 out playing MLB?
-
I think my PS4 is about 4 years old now. I've put it through it's paces this year with as much MLB as I've played. I've taken to putting ice packs on the top of it to keep it cool...
Anyone burn through a PS4? My son has had issues with XBox in the past, but this thing has been rock-solid.

I burned the fan out in January.
Replaced it and added a laptop chill pad underneath. Seems to be doing the trick.
-
You can open it and clean the fan, prevent it from building up dust. That will make the fan heavier and less effective.

A frozen bottle of vodka works waaaaaay better. I used to set one behind it and lay it down when I lived in an apartment with no AC, worked fantastically.
-
Do people lay the console flat, or stand their PS4 upright? I noticed that when I switched to putting mine upright, it helped with air flow, and keeping it cooler.

I'm not sure but what I do know is that mine sounds like a vacuum

Mine sounds like it's ready to blast off into space.

No but be very careful of the condensation from the ice packs...
True! I started off by opening the case and dumping ice cubes in there, like a Yeti. That didn't seem to work well.

I put mine in a bucket of water when playing. Works great!
Big brain play right there.

Should have known that. Watched a YouTube video, opened the case, cleaned out all the dust... HUGE difference. Thanks.

Lol- same here. Feel like I should get out of the room and the building when I hear the engine revving up.

I bought a mini fan and have it blowing on the side so all that air that comes out the back of PS4 which is on a desk close to wall isn't just sitting back there

I swear I just cleaned a bunch of dust off of it two weeks ago and it’s a lot more silent

I've had my PS4 since early 2014, and it is still quiet, working well. I am using the digital version of the game, don't know if that helps.
I shouldn't even type this, when I turn the system on tonight it will probably explode after I said how great it is working.

Keep it in the fridge with an extension cord and you will make World Series every season.
