However, I've found that you may not be able to match up with a certain player even if you haven't matched up with him on the same day.
Is this a fact or an assumption? I thought it may have been the case where there was some kind of timer on matching with the same player, but hadn't looked into it. It would make sense to avoid things like win trading in events.
I'm new the DD. I've come from the NHL HUT world where EA doesn't give a [censored] about anything along as you pump money I to their god awful product.

Matching up in RS and events is totally different, In RS you usually get someone equal or lower, In events it is hit and miss or more balanced.

It is a fact that you cannot match up with the same person more than once a day. It prevents local game boosting using two consoles on the same network when both teams have similar ratings.

Whenever I close in on WS there are some decisions to be made in terms of match-making:
You can either control the slider to left, and make sure that you match up with someone close to your own rating, or you can let it slide as far as you want, and hope that you match up with someone of a significantly lower rating.
From a mathematical perspective it would make sense to let the slider go far to the right as it should be far likelier that you match up vs. someone with a lesser rating (there are after all a lot more lower ranked players). Although I don't know for sure how selective people in the 500s-700s really are with their match-making. I know that many WS guys simply refuse to play on HoF if they can avoid it.
What I have noticed when looking for matches with streamers is that you might both be in the appropriate match-up-range without ever actually ending up matching with each other. So clearly there are some obstacles with matching up. It could be the distance between the players, the strength of each team, individual records etc.
With respect to the above, I essentially have two questions:

Do we know what are the factors that prevent two players from matching up with each other?

In your experience, are you likelier to match up with higher or lower ranked players if you let the slider go all the way to the right or does it seem to balance out?
The answer your looking for is "Churn Rate"

Idk how events ratings actually start and all that but if you think about it. In RS if you are constantly playing guys of lower ratings, those guys are playing guys higher than them. That was my point that you do player higher rated guys as well.

In events it's just goes by wins, it's matchmaking is the same as it would be if playing B.R. The more wins you have the higher your bar starts.

I guess I should have clarified, In rank season in my experience you are playing guys closer to your rating then you do in events if that makes since. Yes I play higher rating players but usually within 150, if I am rated say at 500 the highest i will get is about 650. In events you can be at 500 and play someone over 700 or under 300.

Can you even tell your opponents rating in Events? It doens't go to an end game screen showing you what your is or anything...
