With the Phillies officially retiring his number, I bring up my belief that he should be in MLB The show with strong representation for both the Phillies and the White Sox. For those who need more reason than his stellar, Hall of Fame caliber career(That was snubbed because he was a man who spoke his mind and rubbed the right people the wrong way), was that his 11 year offensive peak(1964-1974), He ranked the following
    Offensive WAR: 1st (68.5)
    Home Runs: 5th (319)
    OPS+: 1st (165)
    Runs Created: 4th
    On Base Percentage: 4th
    total WAR: 6th
    RBI: 7th
    Walks: 9th
    Batting Average: 11th
    Doubles: 12th

He was a dominant offensive player by basically any metric, and that makes him a perfect Diamond Dynasty Candidate. Not just for being a great player which would result in great stats, but he would be a FUN card to use, and he'd have terrific card art. His defense at third wouldn't be great(likely sheffield tier), but he'd be able to play first and left field as well, which makes it more palatable.

There's two reason why I won't do that

    1. The filter is really dumb
    2. Allen himself does not like being called Richard or Richie

The White Sox have so few heroes in our long history. [censored] Allen is one of them and I would love to have him on my team.

Oh — and for all the people who say “smoking doesn’t make you look cool” .... Smoking made Allen look cool lol. Check out his SI cover.

Was he a LH batter? The WSox need them historically. Because of my age, I remember Baines, Ventura (none are era defining by any stretch) and Rock as a switch, sliding on the back 9 of his career. Minoso, Konerko, Big Hurt all RH. The 90’s are the main theme this year, so you could add Pasqua, old man Fisk, Lance Johnson 😆

I remember he was quite a stud with the Phillies but I thought he played for the Cardinals more than 1 year. Had two great seasons with the White Sox. Feared hitter for sure.

Dude was a monster in his prime. If he’d been able to play a couple more years he would’ve been a shoo in for the HOF
