Game mode is everything

In over 100 games in RS I was a 400 level player, late on everything, who hit 2-3 hits per game. Last week I switched to game mode on my LG 4k and now I am a 600 level player and I get 8-15 hits per game and I am early on high fastballs over 100 mph with my pci centered in the middle pre pitch. I draw walks now. There is hope for bad hitters out there.
How does changing TV game mode work with using HDMI? I do not see a game mode option on my TV when changing input or source?
-
Game mode is typically in the settings and not necessarily its own input. On my Sony you click on “action menu” on the remote, then select “picture adjustments”, and you can change the picture mode to “game”.
Not all TVs have a game mode though. You should do a google search on your specific TV model to see how you can activate it if there is one.

You have to do it through your video settings on your tv not your inputs

Not all TVs have it. I had been using a 10-year old TV and struggling to catch up to high heat. Bought a new LG 4K OLED last week and night and day. When I'm late now, its not because I am waiting too long to decide ball/strike since I now have time to actually discern where the pitch is going even on 100mph fastballs.

Thanks, I will check that out.

Yup, i learned that with 17. The next step is gaming monitor, I'm sure i could make CS and be fringe WS player if i played on a monitor.

some of us still suck with game mode. my TV automatically changes to game mode when the PS comes on and I still suck.

Dude i did the same and its noticeably different. Im no Pete Rose but I am definitely getting more hits and contact for sure. I also switched to directional hitting and will not go back to Zone. F Zone

The game should tell you what hitting interface you opponent is using. I would definitely pitch directional hitters differently than I would zone hitters. Personally, I think directional hitters should have a league of their own, but if not, at least let us know when we are facing one

Where do I see this info when the game starts? Thanks!

You don't. I'm saying that it should be visible, but its not

Also, don't underestimate the value of using a controller that supports USB communication. Add that with a monitor and a good night's sleep, and you can be more successful.

Same here, casual player who could never catch up to fastballs for past 2 years. Had so many Extra Inning 0-0 games and couldn't buy a hit. Recently moved my PS from bedroom 55 inch 4K to basement 40 inch and cannot believe the difference. Now I am early on almost all pitches and fastballs look like meatballs no matter location or speed. I'm sure switching to a monitor would make a world of difference too

Do any of you guys play on a roku tv? I can't find a game mode anywhere on mine.

It would depend on who makes the TV, roku is just the operating system. Its usually under picture settings or input options.
