Springer or Thames?
-
I took Thames And this was before trout was revealed but given your situation it just be better off getting that extra postseason card
-
Thames. Swing is too nice. Lefty killer. And righty killer. His defense has never been an issue for me. I think you'll get more use out if him if you're that close to getting Trout.

Springer is the same as trout so I’m picking springer 1st. Too many good 1b that rake.
springer is not the same as trout, have both and trout plays much better.
-
Have you considered doing the other collections? I got Trout without the Postseason cards. Seems like one of the tougher collections to get.
PS- Don’t sleep on J-Ram. Great swing and more versatile then Thames and Springer. Plus, Thome and Ortiz can be prestiged and are basically the same card as Thames anyway.

You can eventually get all 3, but I took Thames first. Springer will be next
How I've approached this. Thames rules. Springer is good and a Postseason card - helps with that collection if you're thinking that's a route to Trout. JRam doesn't have a place in my team as of now.

I picked Ramirez first because my outfield was good, I had Yount at short( Now I have Rollins) but I played Ramirez at 1B instead of his primary spot at short. Then I picked Thames 2nd moved Ramirez to left because he was crushing everything! Thames took over 1st base. Still haven’t got Springer yet. At XP level 88. You honestly can’t go wrong with Thames or Ramirez in my opinion, but definitely leave Springer for last. I think SDS will release more postseason cards soon
-
Man I'm far behind this year, I'm just coming up on gold 95 soon. Will finally have Posey in a day or two, will end this Joe Torre nightmare.
I need to get playing more, it is August. At this rate I won't hit Prestige until December!

I'd say opposite but i'm fkn terrible right now coz my inet but Springer for me over Trout mvp. I'd get Eric T though regardless unless you have Stan or Big Pappi at 1b already. Either-or doesn't matter i guess your not getting to WS

Thames may be the best hitter in the game right now..
-
Glad I waited and got Babe Ruth at 1B instead lol

Not sure why the hate for Springer, he has insane power and pretty decent vision and contact on top of speed. Oh and he’s a good defender. Not that Thames is not a serviceable fielder just not on the same level overall as Springer. And it being a postseason card he has a high clutch rating which means he performs even better in high leverage situations.

Not really hate for springer. I’ve had both for awhile now and Thames is just on another level compared to springer. Stats in my opinion are great, but if they don’t have a good swing animation they can be useless. You look at top guys lineups and they pretty much all have Thames and none have springer. Thames is top 1b in game right now, with Ortiz as 2, but with Ruth having secondary 1b he is probably going to be end game for almost everyone. Springer gets lost in the mix as a platoon guy. He’s like posey, stats are great but the ball just doesn’t jump as much as the stats say it should.

I get what your saying but I’ve love Springers swing and have crushed with him since I’ve had him. You are right though he is coming off my bench and is not a starter as mantle is my center fielder and is not coming out of my lineup even when I get trout. Trout will get pushed to left field
-
Literally took Springer just to finish PS and get Trout (I just needed 1 more PS, so had to do it). Honestly, with so many good 1B out there, I wanted to take Ramirez first, but the Trout chase drove my decision. Ruth, Musial, Ortiz...you don’t need Thames like you did 2 months ago.
-
Ramirez is actually the right answer imo. Then Thames tho
-
Thames is a glitch like didi, add like 25 to each attribute due to animation of swing

Ya if his swing is great for you than he’s a great player for YOU, no matter what the stats say or how other people bash cards, if he hits for you he hits, all that matters. Too often guys get stuck on best overall and stats and not how they perform. An example is I have banks and can’t hit with him to save my life. Other guys absolutely rake with him, but I can rake with didi who has clearly inferior hitting stats. So if I have to put one or the other at short, I’ll go with the guy I rake with. I also look forward to whats to come when I make inning or choice pack decisions. In the outfield there is still mays, Griffey, and Williams to come, plus whatever finest/postseason cards, where first base pujols, Thomas, and Gehrig are the only legit 1b I can think of in the future, and I can always platoon pujols and Thomas with Thames/Ruth. I wasn’t expecting Ruth to have 1b secondary tho so that changes some things lol
-
Yeah Didi does seem to have better power than his numbers would suggest.
-
Yeah Thames is irrelevant now with Ruth available. I'd argue Springer is too with Trout unless you're behind on collections.
-
Yeah I'm late to lvl 25... Now that there's Ruth and musial at first... And trout, walker and mantle... I thought it was ramierz easy, but now hornsby.... Who's the best bench bat? Thames?
