Let's get gloomy... Downgrades!

Let's look at Ohtani. He is a borderline gold at 81 OVR.
He has been lit up like a Christmas tree both starts.
He got roughed up in the first one and had zero control in the second. He deserves a downgrade, but will he get it? I doubt it.
I think SDS has always been quicker to upgrade rather than downgrade.
With weekly updates, they could fall into the habit of changing ratings just to change a rating and provide us with the newest and latest trends. -
Edwin Diaz to a common???
-
This posted twice lol...but Ohtani could go silver if they really downgrade his pitching. His hitting could get a little upgrade tho
-
They should downgrade Kimbrel to Magikarp.
-
George Springer.
.182 average
.692 opsNO MORE SPRINGERS! (Also im biased because I just got Springered twice in a row)

As bad as he has been that is too far a drop. He will probably drop to a 78 or 79, maybe a 77.
But no more.
Coming Soon a Jared Kelenic FS card to remind Mets fans what they traded away for a broken closer and a deflated 2nd baseman. -

Pokémon got to catch em all...

Waiting for Rhys Hoskins to go Bronze. He's terrible now. Literally the only thing he can do is walk. He can't hit, he can't hit for power, he can't play defense, and he has no speed. He's got no arm either. Give him offensive stats lower than Teoscar Hernandez, but with 125 Discipline.

I don’t think they should do any downgrades this season. If players can just opt out doesn’t seems fair to downgrade anyone’s performance this season. Plus, Reducing diamonds or golds at this point in the year seems odd considering we are getting 94 player programs.
I couldn't agree more. Nicely said

Lol I think they will likely bump Laureano to diamond when springer goes gold just to keep the troll alive
-
Eugenio Suarez out of the blocks very bad, not sure he will drop to silver, but he will likely drop.

I did as well lol I hope he goes gold but I don’t see SDS taking the troll away

Thanks! I think this season should be treated like one of those extra credit tests that can only help your grade but can’t hurt it!

I don't really see those guys going down much. I'm pretty sure they have done the ratings based on three year averages. Kyle Lewis hasn't played much so he could jump easier than Acuna or Arenado dipping.
There is definitely a misconception regarding the three year averages. I’m fairly certain the 3 year average affects mostly the ratings at launch while roster updates are more heavily weighted toward the current season. I could be wrong about that though
-
I wouldn't want to be the one making the decisions on who goes up/down this year. Give them a pay raise lol
-
I know last year they were more heavily influenced on the current year but I can see them this year going back to looking at historical numbers as well.
They noted Stanton stayed gold due to practically no playtime in 2018 despite his hot start (plus 2 missed games vs Philly due to covid).
Same way they bumped DJ due to his great year last year and hot start this year.I think they will hesitate to punish low diamonds for slow starts like someone else said...typically they boost faster than they demote.

Isnt that the perennial MVP candidate Rhys Hoskins we are talking about?

Coming Soon a Jared Kelenic FS card to remind Mets fans what they traded away for a broken closer and a deflated 2nd baseman.Cano at least has been heating up, but yeah I'm a Mariners fan and I am incredulous that we won a trade and got a guy like Kellenic who is an absolute stud. He's gonna force his way to the majors this year, have you seen what he is doing to our minor league arms?!

It looks like a one sided trade. Cano will never be what he was due to him being barred from his home chemistry set.
The whole deal hinges on Kelenic's future. But I will be honest with you;
Even if Kelenic is a complete bust, getting out from Cano's last 5 years at $24m per
season alone makes the deal worth it.Cano will flash here and there, but that is it a flash, a mirage of what once was.
All it cost you was a closer that blew a mental gasket as soon as he saw "NY" on his cap.
