Lester had a not hitter through five, and was looking good. Then David Ross took him out! Why! That also could have boosted his overall!

I'm just laughing to myself because I was doing an overview of 2 start pitchers this week for fantasy and was like Lester has a terrible matchup, don't start him.

    And then he does that.

Boone wasn't great at managing the Pen early in 2019 but he got better. I think there'll be some growing pains, but I think Ross is smart enough to improve. Catchers typically make solid managers and Ross certainly has the right personality as a "Players' Manager" is the right type right now. He'll be good in a few months or by next season.

Mabye he saw something? I'm just getting back from work so i wasn't watching but prehaps David Ross didn't want one of his key arms hurting himself early in this abbreviated season and you have to remember these guys got almost no spring training so arms are not 100% so yes he was pitching great but he may have been on a pitch clock just to be safe.

    Even Glasnow only threw 4 innings. 1R, 1H, 9K 2BB. Great outing

They said in the beginning of the game he was going to go about 5. With the big lead he figured to keep Lester fresh, no reason to keep him in the game.

Lester is 36, which is ancient in today’s game. They are easing these old farts back into it slowly because of the abbreviated spring/summer camp.

True. It wasn't smart to bring in Craig "Hey, you want some free runs!" Kimbral

Dusty Baker probably wishes he had pulled Justin Verlander after 5.

Then again, it's Dusty Baker: Legendary Arm Killer.
