That’s gonna be so far down the line getting enough Prestige cards that it won’t be worth it. I’ve collected most of every single collection but don’t have one single Prestiged card. Don’t play online because of crappy lag, so I guess I’ll be liquidating some collections for stubs if that’s a requirement. It’s a stupid requirement frankly. They’ve moved more and more towards forcing online play this year. At least they’ve made most things possible with alternative methods. Requiring prestiged cards for collection will nix that.
Yeah, I would be surprised if they make prestige cards necessary without an alternative option. I personally have 5 red diamonds, but I know there is a large enough slice of their consumers who don't play online and while they usually incentivize online play, this would be pretty alienating. But who knows.

But you have to be at the prestige xp rank in order to get them for offline

True, but the sports game companies all seem to love alienating their player bases the last couple years. SDS at least makes it easier to field great teams just by playing the game. I’ve spent a tremendous amount of money on this game, but it’s as a collector who loves to play offline. I’ve tried many times to play online but the lag is terrible in my area for whatever reason. MLB and 2K are the only games I have issues like that with. I have great internet and wire my consoles in without using WiFi. Just doesn’t matter for me. Online isn’t fun under those circumstances.

I wonder if it’s an option to use prestige cards and you don’t need every single category.

I'm probably in the Top 0.5% of cards owned (100% LS, 62% L/F) and even I didn't get my 2nd prestiged card until yesterday.

I sold everything that wasn’t locked last night. I had a bunch of every collection done, but I sort of decided against this collection. Honus last year cost me a [censored] at a few BR rewards I wanted more.
Not saying I’m passing on this collection, just in no hurry this year at all.
I have Prestige Mantle and he’s my Honus this year. And Mantle actually performs.

I am thinking that Prestige will not be needed for a voucher like last year. Meaning collect so many Prestige cards for the voucher.
I think you will need to collect a certain number of cards and it will be tiered.
Collect 200 get a card and XP
Collect 500 and so on.No way they alienate offline players by requiring Prestige cards. This is the last cash cow for the game.

I think the reward is going to be Randy Johnson too.
If I’m right, that’s going to be filthy, but ridiculously expensive for a long time.

Randy with a 101 mph sinker with 90 mph cutter combo sounds amazing. With 125 H/9 and a slider that sweeps the entire strike zone.

The good thing is that they showed a gold prospect card which is from TA so those should count. I think I sit pretty well as I have 7 of the HRD, 5 Player league, 13 Prospects, 21 All Stars, 18 Breakouts, 23 Vets, 23 Rookies, 13 Postseasons. The Awards, Primes, Sigs, FOTF and Future Stars are where I am lacking. I can not complete the showdowns to save my life so I have done the March to Octobers.
I did buy up some extra guys so I can flip them to the wave of people trying to complete the collection

Pretty obvious the Gold Prospects would count when they updated the existing Prospect collection with a diamond icon.

Looking at how the prices for some of those prospect cards are soaring, I'm tempted to unload a few of those that are now touching 100k

I’d like to have Randy, but the final reward shouldn’t be a pitcher. Needs to be someone that can play every game for you. Pitchers are a luxury but not as valuable. I won’t lock for a Randy Johnson like I would for a Hank Aaron or Clemente.

I’m like you but Have none of the prospects, hrd, or players league cards, but have a ton of signature, awards, and primes but it seems I’m more screwed than you

I am already looking at cards that are way above normal levels and selling them off
