Why don’t we actually play on 19 @A_PerfectGame .. shippett July 1 pm legend difficulty, god squads, I’ll stream. No excuses with that
19 is a bad version of the game. I’d play you in it— It proves nothing about player skill though...not impressive if I win or vice versa. I’ll play you day 1 on 20
I think if you played Mitch, you may realise that skill will win out more often than you think. I haven't played him, but I watched the last stream that happened through this forum and he is a beast. My online win record is 61 percent and I realised after watching that stream that it doesn't deserve to be higher because I'm simply not that good.
Are there faults with this game? For sure. Should those faults mean that you lose a third of your games? No! That's why the guys at the top of the leaderboards are there, consistently.
Is there any point to obsessing over those faults? No, not at this point of the cycle when they are not going to change anything.
The players at the top never change their internet and SDS never changes the coding. Top players will continue to be top players until a ping based indicator and ping based match making is implemented. Then and only then will you tuly see has skill. This is why online tournaments are a joke. I can pretty much say with certainty that Mitch would probably beat me handily if we played right now. I can also say with certainty the result would be different if we were to play on the same lan line.
I know most of you online "Gods" don't want to believe ping plays a major role in online gaming but it does, both good and bad depending on how the gaming company addresses it. It is why Battlefield region locked servers several years ago and COD went to ping based match making this year.
If they went to ping based match making some people would actually see an increase in their record and performance while others would see a decrease.
How bout this. Since you’re saying it’s connection based, we should both play the cpu offline and see who puts up more runs. That would have nothing to do with ping and it would show that ur just not as skilled as you think you are. Cotw too.. why haven’t u won cotw? It’s not h2h. If you’re that good you should be able to put up a more impressive cotw score than me

And if they ever grab a clue and match make based on ping like they should be doing, most of the top players wouldn't be where they are. Maybe some day SDS will pull their head out and implement this. Would be fun to see the top players cry because they are no longer playing slow pitch softball.
You do realize a very small % of people (even with the Little Billy code) make the WS right?I think I will do an experiment on this. There's been so much talk about connection influencing pitch speeds that I need to verify this independently. Will be using a wi-fi connection for a few games instead of the ethernet cord to see what changes - and if something does change, to what extent.
That is impossible to do without knowing the ping speeds of the opponent. If both players are pinging 50, the game will be smooth, as intended and players should see the game exactly how the server sees it. If one is pinging 30 and the other is 130, their is going to be a disprepancy on what people are seeing on the server. Depending on how the code is but the majority of gamers have garbage internet. This is just a fact.
Now there is a chance I could be completely wrong and people like Rebel could be right next to the server and have low ping. I highly doubt it though. There is a sweet spot in the code for ping and more than likely your top players are sitting there. So they are seeing the game same as the servers. These are the times you see the ball in the PCI for okay contact, missed animations, balls you miss with the pci being good/good, etc. SDS could see this by seeing the ping time to the server from all the top players in the game. They have access to this information, I do not.

So you're saying that me using wi-fi compared to ethernet cord would not influence my ping at all as it's solely determined on my internet speed and my distance from the servers?

I guess you don't realize I am 50 years old. How old are you? 25? 30? Never claimed to be a top 100 player. Just advising you how games are made today and that connections play a huge part in online gaming. Regardless if I am 10-100 or 100-10, I will state if there are issues with any game that I play that I am passionate about. They could throw up a ping indicator and ping based match making and I still wouldn't be a top 100 player. I just simply don't have the video game quickness any more. Same as I can't play volleyball and basketball like I used to. I can still beat the majority of people in softball and dodgeball though.

My ping on pubg wired and wireless with google fiber is around 10-40 at all times. Guess that depends on the quality of wireless and wired you have.
No clue what it is on MLB but I will say I can hardly win a game when wired. I would guess like a 10-50 record. So my record on wireless is much better.

Koogs is not a top player by any stretch of the imagination. Not sure why you’re bringing him up, but it’s certainly not impressive that u lost 10-9.
18 and 19 were where you made Youre Mark bro. The two most noob friendly versions of the game...
Yet, and you can't win 80 percent of your games. Go figure!
That’s because the games an RNG fest until you get to legend. No secret. Anyone denying that is in complete denial.
That's a bit of circular reasoning no? Anyone denying that is in denial? Isn't that already said by denying that once? If you deny something, aren't you in denial about it?
No. Nice try at sounding smart and you got 5 likes. Forum full of genius’
The term “in denial” is an unwillingness to accept reality. To “deny” is to refuse to give or grant (something requested or desired) to (someone). Not quite a Homonym but definitely completely different meanings. But nice try.

Try not to be worse than Kieran or Sportsking, though idek if it's possible to be much worse than that

Stop playing then, it's February, sorry that you both lose more than you think you should. At this point in the games cycle if you hate it so much you have nobody to blame but yourselves, your [censored] is getting old, find something else to do or shut the hell up, nothing is going to change in this game in February.
Perfect game you've played 668 games either get over it or do something else with your time, at least Demise has only played 375, still an insane amount for 2 guys that hate the game this much.
Not about losing. Stop. This is a known issue said by the top players and top streamers in the world. “Don’t play then” is a bad approach because of everyone who had this issue which is EVERYONE...stopped playing. Then there would be no game.
Your response of ignoring it facilitates them not fixing it. I’ve seen this work for and against me in line outs. And it usually progressively improves in big moments. The problem is. If one player squares 8 pitches for outs those outs build pitch confidence and lower pitch count which in the end has dramatic effects on game play.
User input in a competitive game should supersede everything...it’s a game. It should act as a game. The better inputs should win 100% of the time. And that’s not the case. If that were the case in call of duty there would be no pros. If this game wants to go toward the competitive level they have to stick to a learning curve and force new players to grasp it or move on. What they are trying to do it secretly make everyone happy. The real way to do that is make a skill gap and let people adjust to the skill gap. Not randomize the games inputs to structure gameplay around collected data.
Not a cry post. Not an empty sore loser complaint. The biggest issue I’ve ever seen in a game in my life is this.

In all fairness though, I think he realizes nothing is gonna change in 19, but rather feels his input could help change 20....

They need to make the game that competitive across the board. If I put up 15 runs on a guy that’s not good so be it. I feel like sometimes I’ll get 15 squared outs and lose to late weak hits...and SDS in trying to help the lesser player is really just screwing the better one...

20 comes out next month. This is a complaint about the culture of the game in general. Not 19. Will it change? Hope so. I have a lot of doubts because IT HASNT CHANGED IN YEARS...and it launched very good last year.
My complaint isn’t they should fix it. My complaint is they should change it. To them. The game works properly. And that’s sad imo.
Lol The game launched great last year? as in 18? Either you're a troll or just not that knowledgeable, wants a skill gap but says slow pitch softball 18 launched great lol
Game is locked...meaning its programmed to either allow us to win or lose. The winners have insights into game glitches which they can pick up to use to their advantage. There are also users who cheat by manipulating internet connection. The game was so fun to play for the first couple of months when it launched. For me I can play a good game still loose due to bizarre game behaviors. I can't level up. Also cards seem to expire on me at a few games. So if your player performs well when you get him and then hardly ever can get a hit after 10 games then you know it's nothing your doing. Your not a bad player. ITS THE GAME!!!

What you're talking about happens to everyone. Some can overcome the BS better than others. I don't think the game nerfs cards or anything like that. Slumps happen. And with so many different swings in the game, it isn't a coincidence that you can slump with a certain player/swing at times. There's give and take there, too. While you're slumping with one card, you're usually doing better than normal with another card, in my experience.

You do realize how gaming works right? Your information is sent back and forth to the servers to interpret what happens. The time it takes for that information to get to and from the server is your ping. Due to the ping discrepancies, every game that I know puts in code to account for these changes. The problem is when someone with 10 ping plays someone with 150 ping, the server can't sync this up regardless of the code. That is why I say two people playing with 50 ping each will be a much smoother game than the 10 and 150.
I can't say exactly what the ping of top players is because I don't have access to that information. They could be right next to the server and that gives them a boost. What I suspect is they are just sitting in the ping sweet spot (my guess would be about 100). Did you ever play COD when the host had a huge advantage? The host had zero ping so what they saw was exactly what was happening while everyone else was delayed (how much depended on the ping). Gaming is not like this anymore as they need to make the game fair to the most people so that is the way the game is coded. The majority of gamers have bad internet. It is just a fact. Better to [censored] off the few that have good internet than the thousands that don't. Like I said the thing about top players is just an educated guess. SDS has access to these numbers.
So you have never played a game on MLB where the pitch speeds seemed slower or faster than usual? I see it all the time. I have played many games where it feels like pitchers are throwing 120 mph. I have also had times where it felt like 80. How good would you be if most of your games the pitchers felt like they were throwing 80? How about 120? Just think of how many ms you have to react to the pitch in this game. If that code is not done correct or can't sync up right, it doesn't take much to drastically change the outcome of the game. That is just with pitching. I suspect this to be a huge cause of the good/good right down the middle. It would also explain balls in the pci being okay and weak and hitting balls hard not close to pci.

I agree with you on a lot of your complaints regarding little billy and giving the bad players help. I think that’s a thing. The top players having internet advantage?? I don’t agree. I’ve played a lot of these guys. They are good. Particularly good at hitting the fastball ANYWHERE ITS PLACED. when you play in the World Series league it’s a whole other animal of players. I’m finding out just getting there. And staying there are very different things...I used to just get there and move on to other stuff because I got the reward. But it’s actually the most fun and competitive games once you are there. Since I’ve been in World Series this time around I’ve actually been playing games in the league...I haven’t noticed a lot of squared outs and I def DONT feel like my losses have been “chance”. When I lose in WS my opponent earned it.
My gripe is...getting there seems very much chance. Especially on allstar it’s a complete [censored] shoot. But once you are there. The game play improves tremendously and I wish I would had known that all season.
They need to make the game that competitive across the board. If I put up 15 runs on a guy that’s not good so be it. I feel like sometimes I’ll get 15 squared outs and lose to late weak hits...and SDS in trying to help the lesser player is really just screwing the better one...
I feel like different pitchers have different velocity and break etc. and of course difficulty is a major problem. I’ve lost to some really bad players I shouldn’t have on lower difficulties that honest might have been no hit on legend. That being said. I never personally noticed a difference in pitch speeds that seemed related to internet.
