2006 when the Cardinals won the World Series. He famously struck out Beltran looking in game 7 of the NLDS to end the series. He was really only closer at the end of the season, but pitched in relief all year. He then begin starting in 2007.
If they made a 2006 card, it'd have a great H/9 with an ok K/9. -
Yeah i do recall that, dont think it would b as dominant card as a smoltzs closer card, think sds could pull it off and have a two way card for him?

I just hope they give maddux, glavine and Smoltz their correct pitches, like smoltzs nasty splitter and slider.

I hope the Rookie and/or Breakout Maddox card has him wearing his glasses.

In a lot of ways Smoltz was even more dominant as a closer. His 2003 season, 45 saves, over 10-1 K/9, 1.12 ERA (he only gave up 8 earned runs for the whole season!) and a 0.8 WHIP. Dude was untouchable as a closer, he just wanted the ball more in the postseason so he went back to starting. So excited as a Braves fan to get these three in the game!

This tweet makes it sound like we're going to be able to use starters in the pen. But regardless if it's that or two cards. There's a little bit of a teaser. Also the video made me think, smoltz might be added to the broadcast in some way, shape, or form too.
