Post season you might as well change to 15 because 14 is such an awkward number choice. I’m guessing its going to be 20 for prime and awards and 15 signature. That way it is possible to get the collection done day 1 but you need all the sig cards. Anyone that doesn’t want to pay for the BR rewards would probably have to wait for more releases (I am guessing at least 4 more sig cards will be released in the next 2 weeks- 1 headliner, Maddux/Musial, and the BR reward)

Yah my only gripe is the awards, prime, and signature cards are either inning bosses, br rewards, or expensive headliners, last year signature series cards were plentiful and not as expensive as those series are now

First off, this is all based on numbers from this game, because last year I didn’t play when Wagner came out, so I will need some assistance for the general amount of cards to collect. Here are the amount of cards possible to collect per series along with my estimate of how many cards we will need to collect

Postseason: 22 possible cards, estimate: 14

    Rookie: 34 possible, Estimate: 25

    Breakout: 34 possible, Estimate: 25

All star: 38 possible, Estimate: 30

    Veteran: 33 possible, Estimate: 25

    Prime: 27 possible, Estimate: 10

    Signature: 15 possible, Estimate: 5

    Awards: 26 possible, Estimate 10

Others: I could see them making us collect 10-15 future stars+Faces of Franchise cards, along with Prestige cards, but I would not know how much of those they would have us collect.

Tell me what you think and give some estimates of your own because again I didn’t play when Wagner came out last year

Way too low, you aren't accounting for future releases. some sets were 90% when collect released, but by end of year wound up being closer to 50%

I know, but I also don’t think they made you collect 100000 stub cards

Yea I think your numbers are too low. I'd say minimum of 75% of each type.

I'm going to say it's more. Last year the collections were really hard to get when the program came out. You had to get some rare diamond cards in order to finish, which was nearly unreachable. Then, as more players and cards made their way into the game, more and more players were able to finish the collections.

Last year they made packs with silver/gold flashback cards that would help to finish the collections. I wonder if that will happen again this year, especially since SDS has stated that they want to honor good efforts by current mlb players. They could include cards celebrating some good seasons by players that are currently bronzes or commons (all star/veteran) or make rookie/breakout cards for high rated players. Example could be:

84 ovr All-star RF Hunter Pence (SFG, 2014)
83 ovr All-star 1B Justin Smoak (TOR, 2017) (this card was in mlbts 19)
82 ovr Veteran 3B Martin Prado (MIA, 2016)
81 ovr Breakout LF Christian Yelich (MIA, 2016) (this card was in mlbts 19)
76 ovr Rookie RP Kenley Jansen (LAD, 2011)

They did if you wanted Honus in the first month available! It wasn’t until they started having Signiture cards as all 3 henchman, after Honus, that in became reasonable. Then signature team moments and rewards also came a month after his release.

So uncertain about the R/B/IV/AS sets so those might be good.
AW/SIG/PR sets will probably be 45-60 as I see them releasing a ton of those over the course of the year.

Between the 3 collections, 45-60 is a good estimate. Theres no way they would make you collect 45 of each though

I think people are pretty hopeful if they think SDS is just going to forget about FOTF and let people sell off 20-30 diamonds for hundreds of thousands of stubs and just finish the collection that way.

Yup!!! They've made showdowns easier, given you more chances to catch up...they might be part of it.

I have all the cards so I'd be happy.

Think the numbers might be a tad underestimating, especially with people preparing for it this year, they'll want to make it hard

This is my thought. They said you would want to catch on up the FOF series. I think that this is why. No way to know for sure, but just my two cents.

I think the prime, sig, and awards are a little low. Last year the Sig one you needed 60... we will probably be getting a handful more before it is released, but I would guess close to that 60 total between those 3. It’s what made it a hard collection.

The others look good, but postseason would probably round up to 15. No way on the prestige, and I also don’t think FS or FOTF cards will be included, or others in the collection screen, IMO.

I have a good feeling it may be 2 cards, and have stages too.

I hadn't thought about it till you mentioned it, but I fully agree with you on multiple stages and collection rewards. I could honestly see it being 3 players. I also agree that the requirements will be higher than the OP's estimate. I could see card #1 being obtainable upon release of the content, stage #2 being collectible maybe at release, or potentially early August and then the final card not being obtainable until end of August when they've released more cards from each series.

I was one of the first people on Show Nation that had Honus last year. And I think from stuff I already had collected it was like 1.5 million more stubs. So basically like another Mantle chase.

Whatever is coming, is going to be stupid expensive for awhile.

Side note: Honus was nothing special last year. He was just a flex. I hit better with this year’s Ernie Banks than I ever did with Honus last year.

If the reward is underwhelming, I don’t care to pursue it this year.

I expect some will get their hair blown back a bit, it’s not intended to be easy and it’s going to cost those who want to be first to the party.
As mentioned above, the FOTF cards and FS will probably require several collected.

Think it’s going to be Babe Ruth this year. And if he doesn’t have 1B as a secondary, who gives a ****. Only way this grind will be worth it, is if it is a new legend and a really big name.
