I think I would have to side with CH... on this one. If you make any kind of bet you should have that money in hand ready to hand over right at the outcome of the bet, win or lose. It should never take 14 months to pay off a bet, and the winner of the bet should NEVER have to even attempt to collect.
If you want to be a man and make bets, be a man and live up to those bets. The fact that it is only for $100 makes it even worse.
How about a man that makes a bet and then backs out in the middle of game 4? In a court of law that’s called breach of contract.
If you are really in law school I am terrified for the future of our justice system... How can you breach a contract when there is no contract? I doubt a bet of $100 would come along with a contract. Even if it did, it would be nullified by the fact that gambling outside of a Casino, Sportsbook etc. is considered Illegal.
There is a contract you fool. Maybe you should go to law school and learn contract law. We both agreed to terms that’s called offer and acceptance with mutual assent. When he backed out of the agreement that’s called a breach. You only need a signature in real estate contracts.
You aren't actually right here. More than just real estate contracts require a signature, any agreement over $500 must be in writing because of the Statute of Frauds. But again like someone else told you, you cannot have a valid contract on illegal activity. Just like a contract to buy a bunch of dope from you wouldn't be valid even if it is in writing because it is in the furtherance of a crime. (Coming from a lawyer)

Honestly whether you are right in this argument or not, which from an outside perspective it looks like you are not you, you have made yourself look like a clown. Between your homophobic and childish insults and honestly the fact he even played you after taking 14 months to pay a bet shows how forgiving he can be. The real question is did you pay off the first bet before starting this series because if not then I honestly dont see a problem with them backing out.

Always about principals, One took 14 months to pay, You are wrong. The other did not finish out a series. That is wrong as well. We might not know the whole story. why the series was not finished. Saying well he was not going to pay, then why agree to play in the first place? Bringing it to the forum makes you both look foolish and childish. I remember this conversation last year on the forum of not paying the bet.
