@x-Alec_J-x said in Angels commit to wear masks and take precautions.:

Unless you are 65+ or have prior health issues, its no more fatal than the average flu. The sooner young healthy people....like pro athletes....get out and start living, the sooner we have complete herd immunity.

They are far more likely to get killed on the car on the way to the stadium than die from Covid-19. That doesnt stop them from playing.

Virtually everything you have heard about this virus is overblown or pure media driven panic porn lies.

They include positive anti body but asymptomatic patients -- meaning a person who is not sick -- in the positive test statistics.

The fans are even going to games again in Japan and Taiwan, without masks in many places.

If you are a young healthy person, you need to go out and live. There will never be a vaccine, and the more we delay natural herd immunity, the bigger than chance of a mutation or dangerous result from weakening our immune systems.

Dont sneeze in anyone's face, Wash your hands, be a responsible adult, and we will all be just fine.

Cancelling life will only make the suffering worse in the long term.

Ironic, because America is doing (thanks to Trump) exactly what you're wanting and it's an absolute disaster, with zero end in site.

Countries who have treated it for what it is and listened to their scientists, and not a bunch of politicians with agendas have completely cleaned it up. (Canada)

I think you heard some moron say herd immunity once and now use it as your "go to", despite facts, like in order to get there, you'd need scientific proof is doesn't do long-term damage (it does), and you can't get it again (you can), and most importantly, you don't fill your hospitals (America has), which results in deaths of all kinds, even unrelated to COVID 19.

You far right Americans are nuts. The whole world simultaneously laughs at you... and is scared of you.

And beyond that, it's still not just about deaths. You have no idea what kind of long term issues this could cause for those 20-40 year olds that recover. But sure. Everyone just get back out there, return to normal, and ignore the advice from people that are actually qualified. I'm sure your redneck uncle on Facebook is a much better source...

@halfbutt said in Angels commit to wear masks and take precautions.:

Do you realize COVID could potentially cause permanent, irreversible damage?

    So can the sun.

Funny how the number of “permanent irreversible sun damage” is not astronomically greater in the US than the rest of the world.

    Huh.

Also funny how the only reason the US appears to be so much worse off is because they are testing astronomically more people.... If the rest of the world tested as many as the US they would be right there with us or more...

At least the redneck uncle is consistent in denying it.... unlike all the reports out there that change their hypothesis every other day... You should know.... I am sure your uncle turned aunt shares multiple CNN stories a day on FB..

Consistently ignorant is still ignorant. Your hyperbole of things changing every other day won’t help you win this argument. The battle plan has been consistent. Shut the [censored] up and wear a mask, social distance, and wash your hands. You can’t expect long term effects to a brand new virus to be known day one, so opinions and hypotheses changing are to be expected.

And even if the plan to combat this virus or the opinions regarding long term consequences of exposure were to change, changing your thought process and how you approach a problem as new facts/evidence come to light is actually what you’re supposed to do. Maybe someday a group of educated individuals will come up with a name for it...

Your post has r/selfawarewolves written all over it.

It's unimaginable, the level of stupidity to believe this garbage. They are actually not testing that many more people per capita compared to other 1st world countries. They are however, needing it more because people want to be tested for the fact they believe they have the symptoms. The spread is massive in US because of their inability to listen to the medical community and qualified people, instead of moronic politicians. You yourself is a prime example of why America is in brutal shape.

I live on Canada. My city has over 1 million people. We only have 5-8 cases per day now, with zero in hospital, and have testing readily available in multiple places. We are here because we listened to our qualified scientists and doctors instead of morons.

I nearly fell out of my chair laughing at this. I don’t care what political affiliation you have, but a 3rd grader would have more insight than the current president. He is the laughing stock of the whole [censored] world.

Obviously we are more qualified on talking about this issue than any American who believes your leaders are doing the right thing. Our country has handled it the way it should be handled. We just closed our borders from you for another 2 months despite pressure..

That is if you believe the hype. Obviously, this is not the place for a discussion like this so I apologize for making that innuendo.

That being said, there is zero factual scientific basis for that argument. It’s pretty clearly a spin, so I encourage you to look deeper.

Dr. Bonnie Henry spoke again here and gave data on studies that give a pretty clear picture to the numbers of cases that went undocumented, and I’m sorry to say that even including those estimates, our total number of cases were a tiny fraction of the numbers we are seeing in the more severely hit states.

It has nothing to do with the testing. It has to do with the measures put in place to manage the outbreak, the leadership, and the quality of information being communicated to the public, as well as the population’s willingness to follow those guidelines.
