It's not just about death. Don't worry though. It's not like the world's best athletes rely on their lungs. Oh wait...

yes I have seen the numbers. The number of deaths is not the issue. It has been proven that many of the mild cases and asymptomatic have been left with lung and cardio damage. You say you hate us boomers that know about priorities. I hate young people that put sports and entertainment ahead of peoples health. Get your head out of the sand, covid-19 is serious

While I agree with you about this being serious, most young people make decisions that aren’t the most responsible, including yourself.
It’s hard sometimes for a twenty year old who just graduated highschool and is in college or working with no worries that they have to completely change have they live. Age and experience has taught us this but it’s unfair to be so holier than though like you’ve never been there.
Also every other American is having to work with precautions, they are no different. Baseball is their job so yes they need to take precautions but it is there job and so they need to go to work. -

Most do not dude. The vast majority of MLB players dont have millions saved up. With that being said a lot of people are out of work if their job isnt important. And MLB is not important in the grand scheme of things.

Exactly, in fact its the guys who dont have money who arent playing this year, thousands of minor leaguers will be bagging groceries, yet the millionaires will get paid.. the fact is the only safe way to get through the pandemic for these guys is to stay home, period. Like everything else, they have alll these social distancing rules, but they are still mostly half measures that can only protect them so much, every time you are in contact with anyone you are taking your chances.

Irony is a funny thing, you talk of ignorance while blithering complete nonsense. Yes a handful of major leaguers are well off, but there are coaches, trainers, staff members who definitely do NOT have millions.
I would take more time to educate yourself when posting because you clearly have no real world grasp for how finances work and income for lower level employees. Also you’re welcome not to watch when they play if you’re so offended.
But mostly, educate yourself. -

But mostly, educate yourself.Yes, because your post originally screamed "I'm just looking out for the little guy". Get off your soap box, if they have families and they can support themselves they can make their own decision. I'm not offended by baseball returning, I'm offended by someone trying to politicize a baseball player's decision to take care of them and their families

Funny how the number of “permanent irreversible sun damage” is not astronomically greater in the US than the rest of the world.
Huh.

Just read an article that said the team has agreed to wear masks and not go to bars/restaurants during the short 2020 season. Hopefully this helps Trout make a decision to play. I think it's great. All teams should make this pledge for a safer and better 2020 season.

But mostly, educate yourself. To interject with some education, you are correct that most major league players do not make millions and don’t have Millions saved. But, the minimum Mlb salary last year was over 550,000 and is prorated for minor leaguers who come up for a short period of time. With that, minor league players For the most part make garbage money until they finish their rookie contract Or are released and become a free agent, which few who have not gotten a call up get a contract after this. For the most part, minor leaguers May make as much on unemployment as they would playing, if not more.
When it comes to coaches and trainers. Most Mlb teams fill their coaching staff with former players, most of whom have been in the big leagues at some point and besides the big positions, most assistant coaches make a fairly good salary compared to the average American. Trainers in the majors are often individuals at the top of their field, with most to my knowledge possessing a doctorate, and I would find it hard to believe that they would not be able to find a job in the medical field currently. So this grouping, minus minor leaguers, would most likely be able to sustain their life through one season of not playing.
When it comes to staff, And as it was put lower level employees, this is where I think people are missing some things. Having a baseball season does not mean lower level employees will be working. To my knowledge the only “lower” level employees that will be around will be lower management, grounds crew, clubbies/equipment personnel, and security of some kind. The vast majority of low level employees will still have no job when the season kicks off. All of the concessions stands, ushers, servers, etc. will still be unemployed. Besides select Lower level employees and media/broadcasting personnel, baseball coming back will only help the upper portion of the organization. This whole thing about getting a season going is a cash grab because each of the major sports knows that they will make major money through their tv deals because of the lack of sports to watch which is why the season is even happening. Sports, as much as it does feel like a necessity at times, in reality is not. I am excited that a season is happening but being completely honest, I give it about a 50% chance at best of a season actually being completed unless a cure or vaccine is developed.

if boomers dont want covid stay inside. The chances of a player dying over covid with the money they have is very little.

Unless you are 65+ or have prior health issues, its no more fatal than the average flu. The sooner young healthy people....like pro athletes....get out and start living, the sooner we have complete herd immunity.
They are far more likely to get killed on the car on the way to the stadium than die from Covid-19. That doesnt stop them from playing.
Virtually everything you have heard about this virus is overblown or pure media driven panic porn lies.
They include positive anti body but asymptomatic patients -- meaning a person who is not sick -- in the positive test statistics.
The fans are even going to games again in Japan and Taiwan, without masks in many places.
If you are a young healthy person, you need to go out and live. There will never be a vaccine, and the more we delay natural herd immunity, the bigger than chance of a mutation or dangerous result from weakening our immune systems.
Dont sneeze in anyone's face, Wash your hands, be a responsible adult, and we will all be just fine.
Cancelling life will only make the suffering worse in the long term.

I can tell you get your information from right wing radical media. Anthony Fauci has been dealing with infectious diseases for 30 year and he says it is a dangerous virus. He also says that many minor symptom and asymptomatic patients have long term problems they may not be aware of yet. So stop spewing off things of which tou have eitherlimited or no knowledge. Minor league games are already canceled for the season. Baseball is not that important. Lets try to get this virus under control so we can send the kids back to school.

Fact: Florida has 40 hospital ICU units filled to capacity with mostly under 40 year old, Texas has more than 8000 hospitalized mostly aged 25-45, Arizona ICU at 89% capacity, mostly under 45. The young are getting sick. So that right wing stuff you just spewed out is all lies.
