Is it just me that change ups are impossible to locate?
-
The only place I ever throw changeups is down and in to a same sided better (right on right, left on left). That way if it hangs it usually stays far enough inside that it usually isn't destroyed.
-
I give up my most HRs on changeups. I try to keep em down but they magically warp down the middle
-
@boomy_91 @MikeForbes101 @Brimmy25 I'm glad other people have the same problem I do, its unbelievable how inaccurate they are

I assume that this is fairly successful? Maybe I should try it out

Change up is the absolute worst pitch this year. Unless it's below 75, just don't even throw it.
-
Changeups get obliterated this year. Even when you do locate it and it catches the black it’ll be pulled with early contact for a no doubt home run.

Rollie fingers forkball seems to be getting crushed for me lately

Not a go to pitch of mine by any stretch, but if you have been jamming same sided batters in with sinkers and fastballs, it is effective in small doses. Just make sure your pitcher has decent control so that it stays in.

I noticed this too man, really annoying and now I hardly throw that pitch cuz I’m afraid of getting slapped the one time I do lol

Any offspeed pitch is a risk in this game, change up and curveballs are the worst. Almost makes it pointless having secondary pitches, tbh.

I think slurves are pretty reliable, and sliders are solid too.

Pretty much why I like Rivera. Just alternate sinker, cutter, FB. If I throw a slider or change it’s aimed for the dirt. But will still be a nice middle/middle pitch more often than not.

The slider is definitely the best off-speed pitch in the game. It is a must have for any pitcher I put in my rotation.

They locate right down the middle fairly easy

Tried that yesterday with Rodney....floated middle middle instead and lost the game

Nothing ever ends up where you want it with Rodney. Even if you get a 'good' release the ball seems to go wherever.

Bro its honestly insane how inaccurate some of these pitches. I'll throw one that's way below the zone, purposely get late release so it's in the dirt, but instead its a fat hanger. Hitting good and the ball being exactly centered still doesn't even warrant a great location.
It's not just change ups, it's any pitch. Pitching is an absolute joke this year.
SDS made it nearly impossible to hit corners for strikes regardless of which pitch, and regardless of what the pitcher's control attributes are. I mean, yeah, you'll hit a corner strike at times, but the majority of times, it's not. And the times that you miss regardless of how good or perfect your input is, the amount of pitches that go directly over the middle of the plate is overwhelming. Really wish somebody over at SDS would get it together and focus on pitch accuracy.
-
In years past if you missed late on your pitch location vertically (yellow line on analog) the ball would go bellow your target and if you missed early it would go higher. Not now. Not at all. If you miss late it almost always hangs high, over the plate. It is like there is a magnet it middle of the zone and mistakes get pulled towards it. Like a pitcher always misses over the plate lol. Believe it or not sometimes they miss their marks outside of the zone too game.

For me it varies from pitcher to pitcher. If i'm using someone with good control then I rarely have trouble locating pretty much anything. For some reason I don't seem to hang pitches as often as others. Could it be because I use meter instead of analog, or are people having issues with both?
Good players will crush the changeup almost every time i throw it, but if i'm playing someone with poor plate discipline then throwing a change when I know they're looking for a fastball and watching them flail helplessly at it with awful timing is probably the most fun thing to do in this game.
