I’m also looking forward to starting out with a new record. I really wanna take it seriously and try to have an elite record in 20

Interesting, I find that NOT caring about my record makes me not only play better but also enjoy the game more. My record is still elite every year (close to .800), I just don't play enough games to compete for the top50 leaderboards because this game can be so frustrating. Especially if I would actually care about my record.

Either way, like you know as well, many losses on your record shouldn't have been losses in the first place. It's just inevitable for that to happen, the better player does not always win unfortunately. I doubt that will change. So as long as that's the case, I'm not gonna care too much about the record myself.

I just know that I can do better than I did this year. I had about a 3.5-1 win loss ratio I think. Most of my losses came when I was in a slump, so this year I’m not gonna play rs when I’m slumping. Gonna see how much I can improve my record that way. I think record is more valuable than rank. I wanna be good enough to consistently overcome the bs like the top players do

That's a fair goal, it will be tough though. Imo only Rebel and McGunski can do that consistently right now. But that also tells us it's not impossible, so go for it man!

Have u seen Notorious? His psn is CF008897 and he is by far the most consistent player I’ve seen. His record is like 180-11

I have seen his name mentioned but I've never seen him play. But yeah with a record like that he probably belongs on that list as well.

Weird, I guess I'm in the minority. I'm going to enjoy my team full of 99's.
I know The Show 19 has a lot of issues, but I honestly don't think '20 will be that much of an improvement

For a lot of people, building a team is just as fun as having the 99's. I've enjoyed my god squad for months now, I'm looking forward to starting over.

    This^^

It’s fun just to slowly make additions and upgrades to your team, building it into an unstoppable monster that would make every all-star team in history cry just thinking about having to play them.

The first couple weeks when you still have golds in your lineup is the best

And then you finally get your first diamond closer and you feel like you have the best team ever made.

I'm waiting until the stream that shows what path they'll give us for DD. If the XP Reward Path returns, I'll pre-order when I get my tax refund at the beginning of March.

If they go another route, I may wait.

Its also going to depend if I'll be in town for the Early release and what I think the server traffic will be like.

This is my main concern going forward and why I haven’t pre-ordered yet.

I appreciate all of you who accept this aspect of the game and still play and attempt to rise above it.

For myself, I don’t have enough time to play that many games, so when I have one of those inevitable ones, I just feel disappointed.

I preordered almost right away. this is my first year playing MLB. I have made quite a bit of progress in my ability plus I enjoy the team building aspect. I would like to see how I fair with a fresh start now. broke my tibia in late may playing ball so this game helped me get my fix

With changes to franchise, I am 99.9% buying. But still no reason to preorder until closer to release, I still want to watch the streams to see if that 0.01% changes my mind. Or if something in my life changes that I won't have time to play.

I'm not buying 20. I would rather flush $100 down the toilet. Last 2 games have been flat out terrible. It will not get any better. They will never get with the times and put an accurate ping indicator which almost every game has these days. Matching people with like ping gives the best playing experience for both sides. They haven't grasped that concept yet. Little Billy code will still be in effect. There is a reason they are going to Xbox. They will put a different spin on it but the reality is they have screwed up the last 2 and fear sales will be way down. Going over to Xbox makes up for it.

I'm not sure SONY had a say in the matter. That was an MLB decision from what I've read/heard.

For every MLBTS quitter, I'm sure there are 10 more that buy the game.

But to answer the question at hand, I don't do digital or pre-order for the current games flashy card. I always reserve a hard copy of the MVP version at GameStop and pick it up at the "midnight" release.

Yea, I'll be skipping this year's version. The content has been getting great each year but the gameplay and controls have been getting worse. The game is supposed to be fun to play not frustrating. Some hits are not hits some homeruns are not homeruns and some bad hits are homeruns smh I will find something else to hold my baseball addiction down no worries here. To bad not enough people will vote with their wallets. Too many sheeple

Too many sheeple? Lol, how original. Buying the game doesn't mean we ignore every bad part of the game. Despite the issues plaguing MLB 19, I kept playing right up till December. That tells me I (for the most part) enjoyed the game, and until that changes, why should I stop buying?

What you're saying is if we don't hold your opinion and follow your example of not buying, we are sheeple. A little ironic isn't it?

Kind of strange how the last 2 shows have been less than stellar and now they decide they want to cross platform after never doing it before.

That is fine. I haven't enjoyed the last 2 piles of [censored]. I am sure they can find 10 Little Billy's to take my spot. My life will be fine not playing another poorly made The Show.

Licensing rights and even the games themselves are made according to the professional entity they represent (MLB). Hence the reason players aren't in the player pool until they become members of the MLBPA (you know the professional entity). They are usually on a contract for a certain amount of years. They must be reviewed and renewed by MLB. There has been a recent rumor that XBOX and EA had been interested in the baseball genre again (MVP series, remember that?). To combat this, I believe SONY and MLB "beat them to the punch" by striking this "multi-platform" deal which keeps MLBTS as the "best selling" MLB game and keeps it "in house" under a SONY label.

Anyways, I know by now that no one will sway your POV or opinion (not something I'm trying to do by the way-you do you) so I'll leave it at this.

My life will be fine enjoying yet another installment of MLBTS in about a month.

Remember, if you feel this strongly, please refrain from logging onto MLBTS20 forums and spouting your negativity in your usual pontificating manner.

Thank you, and may the PING be with you!

Honestly, I could care less how they came up with that plan. Just find it funny.

Well, I can't talk about ping and Little Billy code if I am not playing the game.

As far as ping, if you don't think ping has a huge effect in online gaming, then I don't know what to tell you. That would put you at the same intelligence of that guy on here that thinks playing on google fiber and satellite out in the middle of Timbuktu has no bearing on the game.
