Who is the best first basemen in the game?
I can understand why they're not automatically putting you on base and making you either get a hit or take a walk. But why, after I get that base hit and then have to steal a base, are they putting me up against a quick count if either 3-2 or 3-2. How in the blue h377 are you supposed to steal a base when the hitter is going to swing at the ball? Also, if I magically get a good count, why is there ALWAYS a person on the base in front of me?
Or, once in awhile my batter decides to take an extra base or two; thus putting me in ANOTHER non-stealing situation?
@ShawnDraven said in Servers down:
Let's all be realistic and possibly expect them to not be up right away. The game officially dropped today and I'm sure SDS has limited the number of people who go in office to deal with these issues in real time. I don't work or have a background in IT, but I'm pretty certain they can't do server maintenance remotely.
Rational thinking is frowned upon around these parts.
Rational thinking is nowing that on release day you would need servers that could handle 10x a normal traffic load. And investing in servers that will handle the traffic.
But no, instead of spending money on server upgrades; we'll pay millions in royalties to be able to use someone's name on a digital card.

Will you be chosen for the beta or not....today is the day
We won't find out till like the 13th right for who is chosen?
So then today is not the day...
Yes it is because no one else can enter now
So if lottery tickets sell out, but the draw isnt for a week....today is the day a winners determined?
I never said anything about a winner being determined today
Your OP was “today is the day....will you be chosen” that directly implies the participants would be chosen...that day
No it means the people are locked in today...if you choose to interpret it the other way is on you
You most definitely implied the opposite lol but not a big deal, just semantics.
Maybe should have been more clear in your OP
Ok glad to see you have these powers to tell me what I meant...
When I first saw the title to rhe poat; I said, "Wait, SDS said they weren't sending out invites till the 13th".
The title of the post was vague. Now if you would've wrote: 'Today is the last day to sign up foe the Beta. Wonder who will be chosen when they send out invites on the 13th?' that would've been interpreted differently.
I’m really on the fence about this. I play mlb because I love baseball and it’s the only video game I’m good at. But rn I just really can’t justify spending $70 on a game when there’s no guarantee of good gameplay. Really feel that I spent too much time on 19 and I don’t wanna repeat that in 20. Anyone else sharing my lack of excitement for mlb 20?
On one hand I want to play and have an elite record (with less games played) but I also just really don’t have a good feeling about gameplay after being excited for the new games for the last 2 years, only to be disappointed with the gameplay at launch
After posting my 'gameplan' or release; I'm second guessing pre-ordering.
Yes, you get to play 4 days early; but the market will be so inflated and the servers will probably be overloaded.
Plus you can still buy any version, later on, and still get a majority of the presale bonuses.
Add the fact that for the first few months SDS always 'tweaks' gameplay with patch after patch, it may be better waiting a few months.
Only downside is if you would need and early Event cards towards collections that may be overpriced later down the road Yes, I'm talking about you Gold Tony Perez and Dee Gordon.
Also, if the bring back Inning Programs, you may not be able to get any early Bosses. (But how many of the first 4-5 Inning bosses are worth having in an End Game lineup.
If 19 will still be semi active, I may wait.
Are any of the Diamonds, Finest, LS, SE, that are at QS value worth a spot in a lineup for someone just starting out?
Right now the only players I have, or are obtaining, that aren't Golds are S$ Ichiro, SS Billy Williams, SS Marichal, SS Colon, SS Wainwright, HW Harper, AS Griffey, and AS Lee.
My plan in to get up to 80-90K and buy as many QS value Diamonds as possible to lock them in and the QS them if they're not usable.
Just tryin to figure out if I want to start with the LS or Finest. Finest will get me other cards, so that's a plus.
@ZB-512 said in Which Preorder Player(s) are you Selecting?:
I have no idea which two players I’m taking.
I’m curious how viable Rivera will be online.
Whichever two are selling for the most stubs. Then I'm going to sell them and pick them all back up once they drop to QS value in a few weeks.
I think they saw how people were 'exploiting' it and unlocking the FOTF cards extremely fast.
So they 'adjusted' the difficulty.
They did the same thing last year (adjusting something that was exploited) when people were hitting 600 Stars in a matter of days.
And dont get me started on the whole 'play vs CPU for days' fiasco right before new innings were dropped.
I dont believe in ' conspiracy theories' and I like how some users post videos showing ways to earn rewards; but I think that is why hitting was adjusted.
Back, I forgot about the maintenance last night and ended up getting kicked, on my final game, for the Granderson 14 H 6 XB moment. When I was kicked, I was one hit away
I had to restart it this morning and I've attempted it twice so far; getting a grand total of SIX hits in 18 games. Thats BS.
Any tips for Conquest?
Do you take all the strongholds first; then the regular hexagons?
Do you play the Steal Fans phase; even if it's not a mission requirement?
When playing Stronghold and Steal Fans phase; do you try to play on the easiest difficulty available? Or do youvlije playing on the higher difficulties?
Do you play hexagon games or just dim them?
Any particular route to follow?
@Rambo_11k said in I see we're still forcing games to be even:
Agreed. It’s how they keep players playing, and hopefully spending money on stubs. Give em some cheap, unearned success while playing online, boost their confidence, they’ll keep playing. I’ve seen all this bs in every Ultimate Team mode I’ve played. Ever had an error at a crucial time in the game?
Thought you weren't playing this year?
Has there been any talk of what they have improved? Not touching 20 if SDS hasn’t moved away from catering to lesser skilled players to keep them active in the game. I don’t want to play a game where your battling against the DDA/Comeback Logic like 19 was when I played.
How is it frustrating? It's a record for a video game. Not that it matters in real life scenarios.
This is a bad take. People play video games for competition. People play sports for competition. People who play competitively want their stats accurately tracked and ranked. It’s self satisfying to see yourself at the top of the leaderboards. Just because you might not have that same attitude or you aren’t skilled enough to get there, doesn’t mean you shoot people down for being upset.
I'm just saying that there is more to life than having your name on a leaderboard in a video game. But to each his own

Have you ever accidentally quick bought a player when you meant to put in a buy order? Who was your worst and what did you send on them? Mine might take the cake. Just blew 10k on Corey Knebel.
How can you pay 10K for a Silver when the highest Buy Order is 1K and there are 10-14 listed for less?
