I'm certainly not condoning it, and a lot of players think it's cheesy (I personally think it's annoying), but it's your only possible solution to your personal problem.

The way you fix it is by making the ball land nowhere near the plate. Put a red zone on the bar that forces complete animation and if the pitch is released in the red it ends up at the backstop, Nuke LeLoosh style. Simple. They shouldn’t be rewarded with a pitch anywhere near the strike zone.

I remember i think it was last year or maybe the year before they had balks on for an event early.on. It was horrible and virtually unplayable. If they can get it right im all about it the game being as authentic as possible.

Amen brotha!! There is one specific individual I just played that is the worlds worst! Not to mention other things they done that weren’t kosher. Anyway, I think they should have em. If you look through posts one of the main statements you’ll find is “well that’s baseball” or “it happens in real baseball all the time”. Well quick pitching doesn’t ever happen because of balks.

Maybe they should fix the problem where the last 2 weeks catchers don't throw the ball on a steal... then we will talk about balks. With throwing out runners broken for most people... anybody abusing stealing bases right now is as cheap as they come. Why haven they fixed this????

What made it unplayable? You're just pausing before pitching. Not bashing your post just curious as to what made it unplayable. I personally don't remember the event

Just learn to hit it lmao, players who know how to take pitches when somebody does this and knows how to react will light up that player, it’s not that deep

When people say “quick pitching”...is that the same a slide stepping? Or you mean they just pitch quickly, before you feel ready as a hitter?
I see people talk about this a lot and have to be honest, I’m not entirely sure what they are talking about.

I like the idea of balks-on for purity's sake and to stop the people who just won't let you take a second, but I just don't think the balk rule translates well into a video game as there are some serious game play consequences. It really adds a lot of time to a nine inning game, depending on the pitchers being used; some of those animations take quite a while for a guy to slowly raise his arms over head and settle into their pause over the course of what feels like a full minute. That's hard to play through, even if you've got the free time to make an afternoon of an RS game. I do agree with the OP in principle, though... some people really need to settle down because the opposite of a marathon, balks-on game is almost equally unplayable.
Side note, with the recent catcher I'm-going-to-just-stand-up-and-watch problem (probably the reason many more people seem to be rushing their pitching of late), is it just a new timing issue? I played a game recently where it seemed every runner took off, so I had lots of practice, and I almost felt like I was starting to get the hang of waiting to time the button press until the catcher was starting to pop up rather than just at any point when the runner was moving and just holding it. Could also have been dumb luck.
