Mattingly 3B Secondary?

What are the chances Mattingly will have third base as a secondary? If making two plays aren’t enough for a secondary, I don’t know what is.

In his entire career, he appeared at the hot corner 3 times. All in 1986.
It's not happening. If anything, he'll get a RF secondary.

This would actually be awesome and I'd play him there just for the memes. Did anyone notice last year in a pre-release stream they revealed Mattingly and he had a 3B secondary? I may try to find a photo. Anyways, I wish it would have stuck but they obviously fixed it before Mattingly actually came out.

@vagimonNice find! They should totally give him that as a secondary and people could play him there at the risk of their own peril.

If Mattingly has a 3B secondary I hope Ron guidry gets a CF secondary.
For those that don't know the story, the Yankees had to replay a game known as the pine tar game vs the Royals and manager Billy Martin made a mockery of the game by putting guidry in CF

He didn’t play enough games at 3B. He would’ve needed to play there a cpl of years. Jim Edmonds played more games at 1B than Mattingly did a 3B and the SS 98 ovr Edmonds from ‘19 did not have 1B as secondary for Edmonds.

Mattingly having third base has a secondary position is like Mariano Rivera getting a sinker. There's actually a chance he'll get it this year.
