Yes, because often their response time looks better than their input lag and they hope you aren’t informed enough to know. Display lag tests the real performance for you, great site.

Just like Vox_Pestis posted... If it's strictly for PS4 I think the only choice is the BenQ ZOWIE RL2755T. That's if you're looking for best performance. As far as a PS5 monitor, I would probably wait till we know more about exactly what it can do. The BenQ ZOWIE RL2755T is cheap enough that you can pick one up and not be so invested that you can't get another monitor when PS5 drops. This is obviously my opinion... But I've tried them all and the BenQ was the best performing monitor imo.

Cmon man, there’s no reason for this post. this is a good thread with good information for people. former threads helped me choose a good monitor and it has been great to increase my gameplay. You don’t need to come on here and ruin it. Yes the gameplay currently has issues, but this is just a ignorant post and takes away from the point of the thread. Air your issues out somewhere else.

So, I delayed for a while and now getting back into it and plan to buy a monitor soon. Really, I'm looking at probably 2 different ones. My wife works for Best Buy, so that's a nice discount there. Anyway, wondering if someone can help me out because I can't make up my mind on the two I'm looking at and whether it's worth it to get the more expensive one.
So, the two models are Acer. Not that I don't like the others, but these seem good for the price. They are both 27" since I think I like something bigger than the 24" cheap ones. Here's one problem I have, I've done a lot of research on all the specs and everything and you can't find input lag numbers on most monitors (at least the ones Best Buy sells). I REALLY wish I could find input lag numbers but I can't. So here's what I'm looking at:
A 27" Acer (model KA272 BI). It has a 1 ms response time, and 75hz refresh rate. One HDMI port. It's the standard 1920x1080 and it's got the AMD freesync with an IPS panel. Again, I can't find the input lag specs on it, but I figure it's probably plenty good enough for me.
The other is 27" Acer Nitro (Model XV272). It has the same 1 ms response time but 144hz refresh rate. Two HDMI ports with the standard 1920x1080 and the AMD freesync with IPS. Again, I can't find the input lag specs. But again, I'm assuming pretty good. On one website it has the Nitro XV273 as the best buy for PS4. Not sure how close these are as the XV272 and XV273.
The price difference is $90. Now, I know the max refresh rate for the PS4 is 60hz. The max refresh rate for the PS5 is going to be 120hz. I know there's no way that I'll get the PS5 right away. Sounds like they're calling about a $500-600 opening price. No way I do that. But I figure someday I'll make the switch. Unless I'm mistaken (and there's likely some other small details) the only difference is the refresh rate from 75 to 144 and one more HDMI port for $90. Is it worth it? Are there any others out there less than $300 that are better?

I spent a bunch of time researching these and at the end of the day I found an rl2755 on craigs for $100.
On your topic tho, I'd certainly spend a little more and get a monitor that will support the fps of the ps5. I won't be spending $500 on a ps5 either... But if there's a gamestop trade in deal 6 months down the road and I'm getting it for $300 or less after trade, that's a different story.
If you just want a 1080 144hz monitor, the MSI e sports monitors (g271) look solid and costs $240 at bh (currently oos but available to order)

Thanks for the input. What I wonder, if I buy the 75hz and later upgrade to the PS5, and I going to be way behind other people that have the 120hz capability of the PS5, or will I not even be able to notice? Really wish we could find input lag numbers for all of these. There’s a website that shows some they’ve tested but it seems out of date and doesn’t have any of the models I’ve researched.

I had an Asus VG245h and recently upgraded to the VG279q. Good specs, bigger screen and an IPS panel for better color reproduction. Plus it’s ready to go for the PS5.
