Everyone complains. People usually go with something along the lines of “this game sucks” and leave it at that, but what, specifically, is your number one issue with this years game that makes you not want to play and you would fix at the expense of all others? Just one and be civil and realistic please, it’s not a spew random hate at SDS thread, this is a genuine question, so I’m hoping for genuine replies.
I’ll start off with my personal most hated issue at the minute, which is that PCI is far too big and affords batters far too much opportunity to make contact on pitches way out of the zone. I often feel I have nowhere to go to get a swing and a miss when pitching and this is my number one complaint at the moment.
-
Probably hanging pitches on good/perfect input for me. Nothing is more frustrating for me than playing a person who swings at everything, so I'm throwing below the strike zone on 2 strike counts, only for that changeup to hang in the zone and get crushed.
It'd just be nice to know what causes that. Obviously, if my pitcher has low confidence, I don't expect him to be very accurate, but there are times where I can't explain why it did that.
-
Inconsistent input lag. It's frustrating to have a different timing window each time you enter a game.
-
Fielding is an absolute embarrassment for a AAA title launched in 2020. If they want to make the pci cover the entire stadium so the ball consistently gets put into play I guess that’s understandable but my god the fielding in the outfield is a joke.

Its not the game its the online community dumbing down The Show, its getting easier and easier every year....little no talent casual kids complain that the game is too hard so SDS has to dumb it down more. That's why SDS should release two versions of the show, a DD version and a Simulation/Franchise version.

I have made this same comment before on a different forum and didn't go so well.but I definitely agree dd should probably be its own game so that the simulation/franchise game actually gets the attention, upgrades and new features it desperately needs and deserves....I use to be all about franchise in the show especially after you could carry it into the next game every year so you didn't have to restart it,but once I saw they were never going to give it the upgrades and new features it needs I stopped playing franchise an just do dd because it's the only thing they focus on every year now, which is fine but not at the cost of franchise...it's just sad

You offline guys sound like a boy band comprised of castrated males.

People swing at balls in the dirt and get line drives up the middle for base hits. Outfielders butcher plays so frequently that at this point players resign themselves to the fact that blooper that roll all the way to the wall are just part of the game.
-
I have 2 issues. PCI outcomes and pitching inconsistencies.
-
Urgency! My defenders make every play like its sunday beer league. I want to see some crisp professional looking defensive plays. Drives me insane when my outfielder flicks the ball back in and i just barely miss the tag. Or on choppers and bunts when my guys casually flicks the ball to first instead of firing it over. Or after a double play and the runner rounds 3rd for home and my first basemen throws a lolipop to the catcher so the guy beats the tag and scores the run for no reason, that one is my personal favorite.
-
Aim a pitch a foot outside, have perfect release and it goes down the middle of the plate. Hit a ball perfect/perfect and it's low exit velo, hit the same pitch with your PCI nowhere close and it's a no doubter. Your outfielders likes to watch the ball bounce 3 inches in front of him instead of bothering to catch it or they like to let it bounce off their stupid face. Infielders take all day to leisurely toss the ball to first with no urgency. Franchise is a broken s*** show, it goes on and on

And this is an example of why a lot of people don't play online - you think your better than a offline player and it's not worth dealing with it. You could be #1 in the world but how does anyone know it's not because you exploit every glitch/lag/crappy animation to get there? Why talk down to someone for their opinion? It's unnecessary and unproductive

Online players are usually hacks and scrubs that loves having their hands held, can you imagine these noobs play Ninja Gaiden or Contra back in the NES days? They would flip out and throw their NES out the window.

Man, I played both those games so much, beat contra ( Konami code baby) and got to the last level in ninja garden but loved it. People would lose their minds now if it was the old one hit/your dead way it used to be and you only had 3 lives or you restart the ENTIRE game from the start. Imagine if you lost 3 times in DD and your roster was reset and lost everybody you had earned lol

I would've never given offline guys a hard time but Joshie likes to chime in on DD conversations calling online guys casuals and noobs(name calling) . I dont exploit anything. I dont dashboard(rage quit). I dont pitch multiple starters in the same game. I just enjoy the competition.

I would've whipped you in Baseball Stars too! You're far to assumptive Joshua.

Online and offline there are a multitude of problems. Fielding is still inconsistent at best, pitching is a roll of the dice and the outcomes on hitting have very little to do with user input. The only people that don't think there is a problem are either very special or named Josh, in some cases, both.
And before dopey draws has his say on this particular post, he tweaks the games to his liking through sliders, doesn't play online so can't accurately defend or malign the game on both fronts.
This game had so much promise. I'll buy next year's version on ps5, but won't continue to do so if they keep taking one step forward and three steps back each iteration.
-
For me, the pci size is not the problem, but rather, the pitches on the edges not called strikes, the difficulty/inconsistency of locating pitches in general, and the check swings.
These together make a batter who is fooled still be able to prolong an at bat until a mistake pitch comes along.
There must really be some impasse with the hitting for the pitching and bad defense to be like it is.

This should be an alternate DD mode.

If you don't do those things why are you playing online?, you show signs of a true baseball player, you should be playing Franchise like the rest of the chosen ones. Come to our side, where there is no hot pockets or red bulls, where we can climb up a flight of stairs without being winded, where we don't have a goatee and have cut our hair in the past 2 months...come over to us.
