Fourth Inning Showdown easy?
-
Yeah, not for me. Are all of you guys who found this one easy playing at HOF level online regularly?
I made it to the boss stage at about 7-15 and I knew within about two batters that there was no way I would be successful.
There is no way this is on veteran or all star difficulty. Guys with great vision and contact vs right have pretty small pci’s and the pitch speed is such that I was late on All but about three pitches in 20 outs.
I’m fine with not being as good at this game as some of you, despite having played since about 14 or 15, but I am finding it hard to believe that the average joe player thinks this was easy.
So again my question, if you found this easy, do you regularly play ranked above 700 or not?

I failed once again the mini-boss in Archer, but that was more of my own stupidity. Finished it in two tries. I do play above 700 regularly though, so maybe that's why.
-
I'm an AS calibre player. Definitely an average player, sometimes trending towards below average lol
1st inning showdown took 10+ attempts
2nd inning showdown took three attempts
3rd inning showdown two attempts
One attempt for 4th inning showdownI probably got lucky on a couple of the moments to get me within 14 of 15 runs so the final boss was super easy but these are definitely very doable in under 5 attempts needed.

Third try was a charm, entered boss showdown 14-15 and got down to 2 outs left and Jose Ramirez bombed a 3 run blast
-
It sounds like the key with this one is to get much closer so you only need a couple runs off Felix. I think I scored two or three my first try.
Personally, I found the third inning showdown WAY easier. I have no doubt that the difficulty vs Felix is HOF.

Down 9-15 at start, Austin Meadows went 3-3 for me with 2 HR’s and 6 total RBI’s out of the 7 I needed
Try loading on lefties if your struggling
I had plenty of lefty bats. I just could not put the pci on the ball consistently. I’m in the 500’s in ranked and the pci sizes and pitch speeds took me by surprise.
I better have something to eat.

Took me 5 tries. I had to get 13 runs before I made it to the final showdown against Felix to do it. It was a pain! Felix throws all over the place and his sinker is hard to hit solid. Thank god it's over, it's worth the aggravation though lol. Good luck

I haven't made it out the 600's in RS yet, currently around 680. Previous years I've been in the high 800's max. I beat this Showdown on the first try. I went in down 11-15 and I'm also terrible against Felix. Best pointer for this one is take your walks. He walked my first two batters and fell behind 2-0 on my third. I sat on a fastball down the middle and got on with a 3-1 count and hit a 3 run HR. Got a few outs before getting another baserunner and I bunted him to second to stay out of the DP. Hit a walk off HR with Austin Meadows.
I know it sounds redundant because everyone says this, but with the final showdown boss, you really have to work the count and take your walks. Another strategy I use every time is to get 2 speed guys with great bunt ratings. I lead one off and go for a drag bunt and steal second pretty much every time. Next time that guy hits I wait for a strike before trying to bunt again if no one is on first. Final boss is all about getting baserunners on and keeping the pressure on them. Use your perks to your advantage. If you don't have oppo taco, try laying off away pitches because those seem to be the ones where the CPU will make great plays when you slap the ball oppo. If the take off or blast off, whatever it's called perk is available, I take it every time. I never take the ones for errors, nerves of steel, or inner peace, they all seem useless. Hopefully these are a few things that may help.

Out of the 20 or so Showdowns I've done for the innings programs and TAs I believe I've lost less than 5.
My take is that the key to moments is to wait until 3rd or 4th pitch to start swinging. I find that on the hitting missions contact on the first or second pitch normally leads to outs. I've noticed this even if you use the Jump Start (?) perk. Also don't be afraid to power swing because most of these are on Rookie or Veteran so it's not all that different from the normal swing.

I thought the missions and halfway-boss were very easy and I went into the final showdown 13-15... but I, too, was a little surprised at how much trouble Felix gave me. I won, but it was way more of a nail-biter than a 13-15 showdown should have been (it took me 13 outs to finish it off).
One thing (well, kinda two things) that really got my goat. In the final diamond draft, I had the option of 3 pitchers and FOTF Carlos Santana. First, there should NEVER be a pitcher in the last draft, let alone three (I guess FotF Ohtani, maaaaaybe). And second, I already had the gold LS Santana in my squad. Obviously the FotF was better, but I ended up making a small improvement to my team when I should have been able to make a huge improvement with one last stud. SDS — please fix this! No more pitchers in the last draft, and don’t offer me a player I’ve already got!

Yeah, that sums my experience up pretty much. I made it to the final boss about like usual but there was no way I’d be power swinging with the pci size already so small.

I went in to Felix down 9-15, and won with 20 outs left. Not sure how I did it, but Felix was incredibly easy to hit.
-
I think I beat it on my 4th try. That was because I couldn't get past Archer... Kept making weak contact. I beat the final boss (Felix) on the first try. I'm not very good at the showdowns sounds guess you could say this one was easy.
-
Incredibly easy. I am by no means good at this game, and I went 12 for 12 on missions and entered the final boss tied. Had 20 its to get the 1 run and got it on my 3rd batter.
I got a bit of luck along the way to enter the final boss tied, but in my mind the mode should be attainable. If I entered needing more than 3 or 4 runs I'd be less confident.

@DriveByTrucker17 thats pretty impressive trucker. 7runs 0 outs
I’ve played showdown show much that every run vs out I keep a mental note. 0-3, 0-4, 1-4, 1-5, 2-5,...
7-0 vs Felix 🤟

I get it. I'm currently ranked about 450, so I'm not an "A" player. It took me 5 tries for 1st inning, 2 for second inning, and oddly enough, 1 try for 4th. I got lucky with my pitching and made it to the final showdown with 11 runs. Barely managed to score the 5 runs with 3 outs left.
And... I still haven't completed the 3rd inning challenge. I think I've tried 5 times and just can't seem to get through.
-
I'd say I'm pretty average. I went in down 7-15 and got it mwith 14 outs to to go. I can see how Felix could give people struggles, but I found it easy once I started sitting low and waiting on the sinker. He didn't throw high much to me.
-
So it sounds like some of you guys are above 700 but I can’t tell from some of your answers. I’m on my second try and I think I’m just going to leave it for a while.
I understand that waiting for a good pitch to hit is part of baseball, but I just am not finding at bats like this fun.

i usually play online and then go play the boss. It makes it seem slower. Especially since I face Oswalt, Newhouser and every 110 mph reliever in the game...every time I play online. lol
